Steven Bartlett has built one of the fastest-growing and most respected podcasts/ YouTube shows in the world. I have been watching Steven for the past six months and see several things that anyone in the content game can learn from. In the video, I shared 5 of them, but I wanted to share two here that I did not share in the video. Those are how Steven has masterfully built his brand through his content and why his opening statement is so prolific.
First, Steven is a master of marketing. When you watch his show, you know he has thought about every single detail of the show. From the audio/video quality to the deep questions he references from his black diary or the cadence of his speech and how he words his responses. Steven is a master of storytelling and uncovering the events in a person's life that have made them into the person they are today.
When you create a YouTube show, you don't need to have this level of mastery, but you should constantly be moving toward it. You can improve your speaking ability, how you use the video/audio equipment you have access to, and how well you prepare for each video. Don't let anything stop you from starting or from continually improving.

The second part is that Steven often starts his show with "This is The Diary Of A CEO. I hope nobody is listening, but if you are, please keep it to yourself.". Steven has moved away from saying this, but it is a BRILLIANT branding move. It uses reverse psychology to create this sense of exclusivity and mystery. This is part of Steven's brand; he draws you in and makes you feel like you are getting a peek behind the curtain on people's lives you know, respect or want to learn from.
The point is to find your brand and share it in your content. It will evolve over time but make sure you are actively working on it. I share five, even more, powerful insights in the video, so I will see you there!
