Most people just look at social media as a place to simply “like” and “follow” people and believe it just stops there. Looked at as just a fad or just for fun and can never be used for business purposes. What if I told you that you could use social media to promote your business? Turns out that it is a very useful tool to promote your business and here are the steps to do so.
1. Defining the Term – The first step is figuring out exactly what social media is. Attention is the primary thing when it comes to social media. Why else would you advertise on the internet or anywhere if not to get the attention of a group of people to invest in your business. The four ways to do this are: a) Buy attention or advertisements, b) Public Relations, c) one on one selling and d) do the work yourself but posting blogs, videos and photos.
2. Become familiar and Understand the Essentials – Understand all the tools and elements that are available through social media. Some examples are microblogging, videos, social networking, photo sharing, audio. Increase your knowledge of these and you’ll be more effective when you implement them
3. Discover your media Niche – Assess yourself. Figure out what you’re good at and make that your focus. If you’re more of a blogger then blog. Same as if you are better at just speaking than writing then you may want to present thing in a video or audio format
4. First Hand Experience – once you figure out your strengths and weaknesses and decide on your method of choice to present your business then get started. Dive into it and get active. Practice makes perfect
5. Your Social media success – The next things you need to figure out is your audience and finding your competition. Find the group(s) of people that would be interested in your business. While do that also do your research and figure out if someone is already in the business of what you’re doing. Ask yourself, who’s already selling to your audience? What kind, and how much interaction is taking place, Is that interaction good? And what ideas can you use and make your own?
6. Takes a Step Back – So now you just need to look over everything you have done so far. See what is working and see what isn’t working. Keep up with the trends of how many shares and likes you are getting. Take this time to analyze everything and see what you need to do next with promoting your business.
7. Beginning of the Implementation Process – Now that you have the first six steps down you can begin implanting everything. Build your web visibility and your brand with your websites. Make it so that people want to continue looking at your site. The next thing would be to start developing trust and engaging your audience by networking. Be honest and sincere and do your best to establish connections with your audience.
