How to develop a child's potential

How to develop a child's potential

In the following days, intensive days will begin for everyone who is in any way connected with the school (children, parents, road users...) and intense days will begin.

If I focus on the children who burden their parents and the roads with their extracurricular activities in the afternoon. I could say that this is irrationally spent time, where it fills more time for socializing than it gives added value. Parents spend a lot of time "delivering" so that children do not spend more time in front of screens. But in reality, they do nothing more about the relationship. This time should be spent more intensively with them so that the children can develop relationships and personality.

These extracurricular activities have become a "business", not a community service. It is mainly about primary and secondary schools, where all these activities should be near the school or within the school, so it should be organized in a completely different way. But I will not go into the organization and way of working, but I will focus on the athletes. I will write about optimal conditions, but every sport and individual is special. And let everyone find in this record their own way of approaching it in their best way.

The ministry responsible for education and sports should be more aware that sports activity is the foundation of a child's development. Therefore, the schools themselves should be built in such a way as to embrace and enable as many sports activities as possible. And so that student-athletes could do part of their training within the framework of school physical education activities. So instead of classic "exercise", you could do your main training or at least support training. Otherwise, in elementary school, it is not yet recommended that student-athletes have intensive training, as later "professional" athletes do, but they should have more gymnastics and motor skills, in order to develop their body as much as possible in various ways, and above all not to let it falls into a convulsion.

Namely, today I notice with my clients that they cannot fully develop their potential, because they do not know how to breathe properly and their body is constricted, and this is directly visible in the intellectual and psychological potential of the individual. Therefore, coaches and physical education teachers should cooperate more intensively.

To the extent that the sports lessons are more specialized for such a student, he develops the skill of how to use his time and potential.

If the student does most of his sports activities in the afternoon or evening, he will develop the "skill" during the period of forming his personality that he has to fight for his success, the more he works, the better he will be and at the same time completely destroy the structure of the day or he develops a "feeling" that the more his days are filled, the more efficient, useful to society, important he is.

With this, he loses his sense of life, suppresses his emotions, becomes narrow-minded and loses "himself"!

So with students, it is important to teach them how to manage and organize their time, and not just impose a burden on them, because that means oppression and violence.

Therefore, it is ideal if students could do their main training sessions, which they cannot do during school hours, either in the morning before class or immediately after class, so that they do not have the whole day "broken" with "empty" or ineffective time.

This is how we teach students how to live and develop their own potential.

I arrived at these thoughts along two lines:

- Because of my childhood, which was too full of sports and other activities, and I later realized what problems I had to deal with in the future.

- Because of my clients, where I see what problems we are dealing with and I can help, because I myself found a solution from these personality complications.

A child is always a reflection of the parents' attitude!

I agree sport is important, especially since my father was an athlete. However, especially in early childhood, music is also very important.

"These extracurricular activities have become a 'business,' not a community service. " - This is especially true and does more harm not only to kids, parents, and families but also to society in general. We explored football (soccer) extracurricular activities for a couple of months last year, only to find that it left no room for family time on weekends, late evening training sessions during the week. So, we had to make a tough decision—I really hope it was the right one—and unenrolled our 8-year-old child. Now, he enjoys hours of unstructured play, including football, running, climbing, and many other activities, with his friends and family. I also believe that sports should be an everyday part of a child's life, but it should never have become a business. Thank you for this very insightful article on an extremely important topic!

That's a great point of view, Milan; I never thought about it. As a parent to a student-athlete, I spend a lot thinking about her development through sports. I'll try to integrate the thinking. But since the school has its own schedule and trainings their own, what would be the best to integrate in the "between time"? School topics (like homework) or sport topics (as stretching and flexibility)? Thanks!
