How To Design The Most Captivating Carousels On LinkedIn

Are you looking for an exciting way to tell your brand's story and connect with your target audience on LinkedIn?

Well, let me introduce you to LinkedIn Carousels - a fantastic tool that lets you break down ideas, create cool mini-tutorials, and showcase your brand in a whole new way.

In this article, we'll explore everything you need to know about LinkedIn Carousel posts and how they can work wonders for your brand's reach.

How LinkedIn Carousel Posts Work

Imagine taking your audience on a journey through a series of captivating slides - that's exactly what LinkedIn Carousels do!

People can easily swipe through your content, just like flipping through a photo album.

It's like having your own mini-PowerPoint presentation that keeps people engaged.

And guess what? You can make these Carousels uniquely yours by adding your logo and contact info. So, not only do you promote your brand, but you also build a personal touch. It's like saying, "Hey, this is me, and I'm here to impress!"

The Magic of Organic Reach

Now, here's the real magic. LinkedIn hosts your Carousel posts directly on its platform. That means people you don't have to leave LinkedIn to see what you've got to offer. And you know what happens then? The LinkedIn fairy (or rather, the algorithm) rewards you with more visibility! Your Carousel gets seen by more people, and that's how you expand your reach.

Break Free from Limits: More Slides, More Impact

Ever felt frustrated by the character limit on regular LinkedIn posts? Well, Carousels let you break free from those constraints! You can add as many slides as you want. So, you're not squeezing your ideas into a tiny box anymore - you've got all the space you need to share your knowledge and impress your audience.

Get Them Moving with a Call-to-Action

Let's not just stop at engagement; let's turn it into action! The last slide of your Carousel is the perfect spot for a Call-to-Action (CTA). It's like telling your audience, "Hey, you liked what you saw? Now, take action!" You can guide them to your website, encourage them to sign up for a newsletter, or explore your awesome products. The choice is yours!

Ready to Create Your Carousel? It's Easy!

You might be wondering, "How do I get started?" Well, it's a piece of cake! Go to your homepage feed, look for the "document" icon, or click the document sharing button when creating a post. Upload your document, give it a catchy title, add a cool description, and you're all set!

What Are the Specs of LinkedIn Carousel Posts?

When designing your carousel post, you must follow a few guidelines. Let’s walk through the specs of a LinkedIn carousel post.

  • ????????Name – Use up to 255 characters to name your carousel post.
  • ????????Introduction – complete introduction within 255 characters. However, 150 characters are recommended to avoid the text cutting off on some devices.
  • ????????Max file size – 100 MB
  • ????????Max image dimension – 1080 x 1080 pixels or 1920 x 1080.
  • ????????Accepted image types – JPG, PNG. Note that GIFs are accepted.
  • ????????Use the last slide for the CTA.

How you can make average looking carousels look AMAZING!!

Here's how:

1. Frame setup:- This is the first step where many people go wrong, and they don’t set up their carousel frame right.

Leave a margin from all sides and give your design room to breathe.

I have seen many people creating their carousel like this, with important information placed too close to the edges, which causes the LinkedIn tag or name to cover it up.

2. Too much text on the cover:- Many of my clients like to add 3 to 4 lines on the cover for the hook, but that's not a good idea.

There is no conversion at all, and there is no space to put any graphics to make it interesting because the hook is too big

You only need a 4-5 word hook that says what you need to say + graphics. That's it.

3. First slide is important:- Your first slide is your ‘HOOK’ that stops the scroll and compels people to swipe and read your carousel.

Use fewer words on cover and make it easy for people to understand what it's all about. Unlike written copy, where you can add three lines for a hook, carousels require concise and impactful messaging.

4. Working with big paragraphs:- Sometimes you have to work with big text on a single slide, and it can be challenging to make it interesting because you cannot add images to support the text.

The first step to make a big paragraph easy to read is to change font weights. Add lines below the important text to highlight it or make important parts in bold.

Additionally, you can use screenshots that go with the text.

5. Only first two slides:- On carousels, never put a lot of text. On the first two slides, you can put information, but the first two slides are there to increase interest, while the third slide can provide more detailed information.

6. Use arrows:- Arrows encourage people to swipe,so choose the one you like and always encourage people to swipe for more.

7. Main goal:- The main goal of the carousel design is to make text easy to read while keeping users engaged by adding some design elements.

Best Layout Design Tips.

All design starts like this:

This is good, but throwing elements on screen is not a design, you need to learn some layout rules.

And this post is all about that.

If you scale the image and only focus on important parts, it looks much better.

This looks good but..

If you hide some part of the image it creates mystery.

Focus on the contrast and make sure the text is easy to read.
