How to Design Events that Symbolise Organisational Transformation.

Banking in the age of technology

ANZ Retail in Melbourne hosted two Gala Awards during 2017, inspired by the design concepts of the NY Met Gala ~ Manus + Machina ‘fashion in the age of technology’.

Hosted at Sketch, Atlantic Group and The Promenade Room, Crown Resorts, both events were designed to be emblematic of ANZ’s evolution into the digital age of banking, whilst 'illuminating' and rewarding employees for continuous contribution to 21st century customer expectations.

“Banking and technology are inextricably connected. In the journey of digital transformation, ANZ is embracing the future of banking, and we wanted to carry that through the events with a futuristic theme.”

said Aimee Udall, managing partner at OzParty Events, which planned the bash.

"Both events were designed to resemble innovation, thinking different, pushing boundaries, and letting go of traditions that no longer serve the industry. All within the context of celebrating employee achievement at ANZ".

“To achieve the intended look, we relied heavily on lighting, visuals and mirrored surfaces. We introduced branded illuminated furniture, an intergalactic space-age video loop between presentations, custom gobo lighting, glow stars and a custom branded futuristic mirror photo booth" said Udall.

The colour palette resembled ANZ’s iconic trademark blue, complemented with ice whites and glow blue tones for a futuristic vibe.

Event Effects illuminated, geometric lights were positioned as feature table centerpieces. The entertainment from Instinct Entertainment also glowed: An 8ft dancing LED robot entertained guests with angle grinding, laser show and CO2 shot release, and neon futuristic models greeted attendees upon arrival.

“In celebration of ANZ award winners the evening culminated in a grand crescendo team photo with surprise metallic confetti cannon release”. Udall said.
