How design elevates any event. Physical or digital.

You know the story of Fitness Thursdays. Here’s the story of Athlesia.
Athlesia is our annual sports event where we turn sports & fitness into a celebration. Made of two words - Athletics and Olympia - Athlesia embodies all things sports. The 3 flames of the Athlesia logo represent the 3 primary colors - red, green, and blue - and this flaming energy.
As the tagline says, in Athlesia we ‘Spread Happiness, Celebrate Fitness’.
Each year is an endeavor to make the event bigger and better than the previous year. This year, Lemon Yellow LLP 's Ministry of Health (MoH) truly went out of their way to make this event a success.
It all started back in September 2022, at the Offsite. Since Athlesia is extensive, we took the decision to spread the games over a period of 45 days. The official “tribal wars” started on 1st December 2022, with the finals conducted on 14th January 2023. The theme of this year’s Athlesia was “Tribal”. Each team was given the privilege to choose a color, through a game, of course. The task was simple - they were given a month to showcase what they do with that color. And everyone did a lot.
Each team is supposed to design original logos and come up with a name that complements the same - or vice versa. They have to design collaterals to promote their team, one-upping the other teams, at every turn they can. The fun and adventure come into picture when each team keeps their designs secret until the team reveal ceremony. And for us, this year it was a surprise.?
First, it started with an innovative captain reveal ceremony. All the teams announced their captains & vice captains in a way that left me feeling proud. Their efforts showed how they took it as seriously as we did.?
This feeling was only enhanced during the team reveal ceremony. MoH had set up a stage for all teams, giving it a feeling of grandeur. And every team rose up to that grandeur with their thoughtful design reveals.?
The Embrose - team Red - had created a beautiful video showcasing how they are here to take back their glory. They promised to “Rise & Revolt”.
The Green Samurais - team Green - went out of the box to present their team with a shadow puppetry show. The greens showcased how they were the “Veterans of Victory”.
The Royal Fortifiers - team Blue - did a collaborative presentation showcasing the power of unity. They had one warning for all - We fortify what’s ours.?
And so started the real battle with the team gear. 4 days later, each team started giving their all to win each game to move up the leaderboard. The competition was intense; every Thursday turning into a battlefield of wills, strategies, and strengths. From indoor games - Carrom, Dart, Jenga, and Online Games, to outdoor games - Langdi, Cricket, Throwball, Football, and Badminton, every match was a thrilling experience.
Innovation and elevation are not a single person’s job. My team proved it with this year’s Athlesia. Ending it with distributing trophies and medals designed in-house - like everything else - was a moment so satisfying I cannot put the feelings in words.?
Details make anything beautiful. We designed our own coin for the toss. We brought in cameras for reviews where umpires were unsure. We set up Zoom in a way that the virtual teammates could also witness the games. We arranged a parade to kickstart the official ceremony. In short, it was grand.?
Embrose took the championship trophy home with their efforts & consistency, but for me, the true champions were all my Lemons.?
And my MoH.
I am blessed to have a team who believes in and supports my vision as if it's their own.?
Counting my blessings to move forward to another year of Athlesia; we’ll only continue to ramp it up!
