How to Design a Distributed System in 3 Hours

I recently came across this video on Google's SRE website titled "How to Design a Distributed System in 3 Hours." But don't worry, this video is only an hour long, the remaining 2 hours was left out for physical attendees.

As old as this video is, it's still good. I enjoyed it and I think it's worth the share. The video lived up to the title. System infrastructure is built for applications, it's important that the infrastructure design meet the needs of the applications, and of course, keeping scale, security, resilience and robustness in mind.
