How to Demonstrate the Power of Technology: Retail, AI and Chatbots

Recent acquisition of Google - AI startup AIMATTER that revolutionized image processing with a lightweight AI-based technology for mobile - proves a good demonstration wins it all. No matter how intelligent and innovative a technology is, it should take some sort of form and skin to get noticed and show its value.

This month we have been paying tremendous attention to the technology in retail. For a good reason. Apart from being early adopters of new digital products and innovation in AI, chatbots and augmented reality, retailers appear to hold on to this standing and step up investment into technology that today reshapes the whole industry. How do I know? We made a survey.

We decided to find out what role technology plays in retail and asked retail executives directly: how do you use digital? The results of the survey allowed to collect and systemize opinions of leading decision makers in the industry, figure out what strategies retailers will use to survive holiday sales in 2017, how retailers assess the state of technology in their industry in 2017, and most importantly, what they plan to invest to and why. Here you can find the full report. Talking about demonstration, numbers often speak better than words.

Once we made a research, we found out that apart from being proactive and forward looking, retailers are also curious. In fact, retail executives admit that there’s a serious barrier between their investments and a new technology - lack of information on this technology.

This is what happened with chatbots. Surveyed executives almost unanimously admit that they are interested in chatbots for retail. However, they need more information to unlock the capabilities of this technology. Having this in mind, we decided to demonstrate bots for retail in action.

Digiteum team introduced Shoppie demo bot for retail just a couple of weeks ago, but it already shows the results. This chatbot for Messenger helps retailers see what a bot could do for their brands: automate sales and recommendation, improve customer support, engage new clients and simply sell on messengers. By the way, you can find out more about how to scale up a bot for retail here.

Are you interested in the application of chatbots in retail? Or have a particular idea in mind? Contact Digiteum team to discuss a strategy on how a chatbot can bring value to your brand and customers. We will help you design, build and implement a truly beneficial chatbot solution for your business.
