How dealerships are WINNING the fight with Digital Skills!

Picture the scene:

It’s 2020, the world has been beaten black and blue by situation after terrible situation. You work in / run a car dealership and have a forecourt full of cars you’d like to sell but people aren’t allowed / don’t feel safe to visit you in person.

You begin offering a ‘click & collect’ facility within your operations but it still feels like something is missing.

You look at your website and realise that you have very little video content on your listings to show customers around your vehicles, potentially losing hundreds of customers who may not be ready to ‘enquire’ just yet.

Sound familiar?

Video has proven itself time and time again, to be the most influential and powerful marketing tool on the planet.

It gives individuals and businesses the opportunity to demonstrate a product, show off their personality and build stronger relationships with absolute strangers.

So why are so many dealerships in 2020, still leaving their video efforts as an after-thought?

You may tell me that your team “respond to enquiries with a video”, which is great BUT it’s only half of the battle online!

  • Do your team feel confident behind a camera, able to create content with a smile?
  • Are they comfortable USING the technology you have within the dealership to a level that is better than your competition?
  • Can they use Social Media to build a community of followers and potential future leads?

I understand, the idea of going digital can seem daunting to those who have traditionally relied on mediums such as VIP events and in-person interactions. The thing is, video engages consumers in a flexible, effective and engaging way that mustn’t be ignored!

If your customer is in the market for a new car, one of the first things they’ll likely do is carry out some research. Increasingly, that means shoppers are relying on video to help them in their purchase decision!

Fact time: Over half of vehicle shoppers who turned to online video while researching said it helped them learn more about vehicles they were considering.

Imagine that you are a customer strolling a dealership’s website and come across a car that meets all your wants and needs.

You view the pictures and it looks good, and then you see a video attached!

There is a well-presented sales executive showing you around the car in a friendly and personable way, as if you were there with them in person. This viewing cements your feelings for this car and helps you build some form of bond with the garage selling it, so you enquire.

This might seem obvious, but if I go onto your website right now (which for many of you – I’ve done), I will most likely only see photos and maybe a few faceless walk-around videos with no personality at all.

I don’t say this to shame you. I say this to help you realise a HUGE place of opportunity in a time when opportunity is the one thing many dealerships need.

Of course, it’s not as easy as telling your teams to go and get more involved with video. They are probably already doing an amazing job and pushing their own limits of what they thought was possible during these times. Which also means they are receptive to training and learning!

That’s where the Digital Masterclass can help.

A course unlike any other course in our industry, at a time when the skills being taught are at their most valuable!

Given to the learners in a flexible e-learning arrangement that can be picked up and put down around the needs of the business. (Don’t forget, learning can continue even if you have staff on furlough).

Teaching everything from skills to build rapport on camera and how to speak with confidence, to structuring stand out vehicle videos for listings and social media skills.

This course was in creation long before the pandemic hit but has proven to be massive aid for many effected by the recent events. Something we’re very proud of!

It's important to understand that these digital skills aren’t just for now. They will help future proof your teams and make you a more resilient business moving forward.

If I can leave you with one lasting thought.

Your dealership will spend huge sums of money on the essentials such as valeting, dings & dents, paint correction and a many of other things. If you are serious about winning in the years moving forward, you must view DIGITAL TRAINING as an essential for the business!

The return on investment online can be massive, but only if you take action, up-skill and make it count.
