How to Deal with Toxic Work culture??

Hello to my LinkedIn Family : Hope all are doing Good and Healthy. This is my #2 Article as a part of new journey : "Power of Positive Thinking" which was started last week. Before we move on to the tips and tricks to face the toxic work environment , lets first define what do we mean by Toxic culture .

Toxic workplace cultures are?rife with hostility, cliques, gossip, mistrust, and selfishness

A?toxic work culture is?one where the workplace is plagued by fighting, Unnecessary drama and unhappy employees to the point that will impact the productivity and the well-being of the individual as well as the entire team overall.

How to face the toxic work culture and stay successful both Personally and Professionally in our life ?

? WE over ME Concept : In this every changing and fast growing technological world it is evident that the focus of every individual will be to stay competent and upgraded for their survival and existence, But at the same time it is equally Important that we develop the behavior of "Inclusiveness" by leveraging on each team member strengths and work as a team to achieve success together and grow together

? EGO " Let it Go" : EGO is the most powerful Three letter world which can destroy anything in our life . No matter how talented you are, How rich you are and how much powerful you are , if you don't Let your EGO free then definitely one day you will realize the consequences of having it in your life and at the same time experience the freedom of not having it at all in life.

? Humor Over Rumor : We often see the Rumor or gossips in the workplace , Most of these false allegations happen because of the wrong intention and wrong attitude people carry in their life just to win over others by just speaking bad about others , Insulting the other person and personally attack them to enjoy their success in a false manner. But Note that this behavior will not bring anybody the permanent success in life, Instead focus on self growth and have conversations with Humor without attacking anyone personally and have an intention to bring smile on your face and so with others in the team

? Be a Leader not Bossy : A True Leader will always focus on self growth and uplift the team members , he/she will be the first person to express their happiness when his/her team member grow or succeed . Being a Leader it is very important that you grow more leaders and not just followers. Focus must be on fixing the issue or problem not just blaming anyone. It is easy to shift the blame on someone and more easy to take credit when everything goes fine , but it is very critical and much needed behavior is that instead of blaming people show them by leading as a example on how to face failure, tough challenges in life and how to overcome the fear of failures.

? Build Trust Over Branding : As a Individual or a Organization it is very important and critical to build trust and be trust worthy at all levels of the activities or process. No matter how much ever you spend time and money on Personal branding or corporate branding if there is no trust factor then it will reflect in a negative way impacting self growth and company growth. Never show biasness or favoritism at work , give equal opportunity to all eligible and deserved to prove themselves and grow in their career.

? Wellness over Illness : Toxic behavior from one individual in a team will spread the negative vibes slowly to the entire team and eventually to the entire organization at large. We must be mindful about wellness of self and team to avoid burnout and conflicts in the tasks we perform, process we follow etc. So it is very important to focus on self growth, self esteem and self respect tied with that of team success and growth. There will be no value add if you perform as a individual on high score and fail miserably as a team player. It is equally important to balance these two aspects in life to stay happier and successful in life both personally and professionally.

? Work -Life Balance over Work - Life mix-up : Most of the time we try to mix the feelings and emotions based on the failures we have in personal with that of professional and vice versa. But it is very critical to have a boundary that separate these two things. For example while at work we should not bring personal or family topics to take any decision and at same time while with family members never bring the topic of work that will lead the time we spent into professional matter discussions and spoil the essence of work-life balance. Work and Personal Life even though has interdependency by nature but it is our own responsibility to draw a line and limit the reactions or emotions which gets mixed up and yield no or adverse results both personally and professionally.

? Learn Over Earn : Learning is a continuous journey and never stops . so always focus on learning things in life, Earning is tied to the learning eventually because the more you learn and have self control, self awareness you will find all ways of ethically earning money or fame in life along with real success. but if you don't focus on learning and only intention is to earn then it will be temporary phase of your life . Similarly organizations must focus on creating vast opportunities for its employees to learn and grow equipped with monitory growth which is just for financial stability.

? Never Judge anything or anyone easily : Just like the saying "Never judge a Book by its cover" , Never judge anyone by their outlook or external parameters which are visible to our eye and not mind. We are not here to judge anyone , we are here just to help and uplift each other and collaborate effectively for the betterment as a individual and as a team. Organizations must ensure to create an healthy atmosphere where employees are emphasized more on team collaboration and sportiveness to deliver the tasks effectively and efficiently .

? Effective Communication Over Too many Protocols : Just by the saying "Too many cooks spoil the essence of the food " , It is very dangerous to have too many protocols or process which sometimes eliminate the real essence of working conditions. As a leader it is very important to focus on what we communicate and how we communicate to the team and what is the real essence or value add preposition expected out the communication. Never bring too many things or process improvements at a time or in one go, Spend some time to understand what is one critical challenge we are facing and how to fix it , rather than bringing too many protocols or conditions which will spoil the work culture

? Promote Ideas over Positions : Never underestimate the power of anyone , Prime focus should be on brining innovation at place and for this to happen it is very essential that we respect and value each and every individual in the team. Listen to everyone and brainstorm to bring out the best one that can be implemented for the benefit of everyone in the team. Avoid misconception that Innovation always starts from top, Give some space at the bottom of the hierarchy to listen and bring up the solutions or ideas for the problem at all levels of the organization Hierarchy in the company. As a individual we should develop the behavior or attitude of accepting others ideas and views if they are really better and beneficial than our own idea. As a organization it is also equally important that once the Ideas are chosen it is clearly communicated to everyone about the outcome post implementation of that particular idea otherwise it will spoil the culture of sharing ideas or suggestions among the team

Last but not the Least :

? Be Humble Always not just diplomatic : Nothing will cost to stay humble and to show empathy. Being a powerful leader doesn't mean one will make use of their position or title to get things done at work. As a Leader focus on how you lead as a example to listen and help others in the team irrespective of caste, greed, race, sex discriminations and only stick to the process improvement that will help you grow as a successful leader and at the same time uplift others in the team to next level as a future leaders of the company.

Conclusion : These are just few tips which I have shared but there are many other ways to face and survive in the toxic work environment , But these tips are common and most critical parameters overall which will decide the future of an individual or the company together.
