How to deal with Disappointment

Hello Unlimited Friends! It's Zehra back again with Q&A about the Law of Attraction and its application to our lives. Today's question comes from Karen in one of my Facebook groups. She asks, "How can I stop being disappointed?"

I love the beauty and simplicity of this question because when we are disappointed, we know that we are not feeling good. We are basically low on the emotional scale, and Karen knows that she doesn't want to stay there, even though she might be there just now. So, how does she get over disappointment?

Understanding Disappointment

Disappointment happens because of attachment to the outcome. When you really, really want something to happen and it doesn't, or you want to be treated in a certain way and you don't get treated that way, you feel disappointed. Disappointment is attachment to the outcome. If you weren't attached to the outcome, you wouldn't be disappointed.

Letting Go of Attachment

To stop being attached to the outcome, you need to tell yourself that it's not as important as you thought it was. If you weren't needy about something, then if it didn't happen, it wouldn't bother you.

Abraham (Hicks) used an analogy that took me a long time to figure out. They said, if someone you don't know at all comes up to you and says, "I will never talk to you again," you'd go, "Yeah, okay, sure." But if someone you love says the same thing, it hurts. Why? Because you have expectations, an attachment to the outcome.

Expectations and the Emotional Scale

Is it wrong to have expectations? No, but it is not to your advantage to think you will be worse off if those expectations aren't met. Expectation from a place high on the emotional scale is good; expectation from a place low on the emotional scale will bring hurt and suffering.

Unlimited Possibilities

Understand that there are unlimited possibilities for things to work out in your favor. If there are unlimited possibilities, there is no reason to be disappointed. Fear says, "I can't have what I want," leading to disappointment, but knowing there are many ways for your desires to manifest eliminates that fear.

Moving Forward

If a specific thing you wanted hasn't happened, that's okay. There are countless possibilities the Universe can use to surprise and delight you. When you know this, you move along with your life, trusting the Universe to find a way to surprise and delight you.

Detachment from Outcomes

You don't need to be attached to any outcome, whether it's about health, relationships, or money. Attachment makes it harder for your desires to come to you. Wanting is not bad, but attachment is because it hurts you and slows things down. Want and then let it go. Use any unfavorable outcomes as information to adjust your approach and stop behaviors that are hindering your progress.

Raising Your Vibration

Find a way to go up the emotional scale. It's your overall vibration that brings you the results you want. All aspects of your life are connected. If one area isn't working, it affects all the others. Therefore, it's crucial to raise your overall vibration.

Awareness and Action

The Universe is always communicating with us, letting us know whether we are high or low on the emotional scale. Nothing happens out of the blue. When unwanted things happen, it's because we weren't aware of our emotions. As soon as we become aware, we can do something about it.

Pay attention to how you're feeling moment to moment, and understand that your overall vibration is what truly matters. Keep going up the emotional scale and trust that the Universe is always guiding you towards your best outcomes.
