How Dare You Follow Your Dreams?!

We have a dream. Before we took the first step to follow it, we were scared and hesitant. What if people don't like it? What if they don't like ME? We spend a lot of time pumping ourselves up, remembering that how others feel about us is their business, not ours. As we take risks, people show up to cheer us on. We're moving at warp speed, taking quantum leaps, with the cheering of those around us, "You can do this! You've got this!" we hear them shouting from the sidelines. And then, smack, we come face to face with those who yell, "Why are you doing this? Who do you think you are?" We're reminded that not everyone will like us. We are disliked by some who don't even know us or what we have to offer. Does that mean that we give up? Didn't we come to the realization at the beginning of this journey that it's none of our business? We forgot that when we became accustomed to the cheering. Don't take anything personally, neither the criticisms nor the compliments. It's not about you. It's easy to do anything when everyone cheers you on. The true test of your passion is when they don't. I'm cheering you on, even if I don't know you. You've got this!
