...At times like these?
When is it never a time like this? Uncertainty. Change. Challenge. Transition. Confusion. Disappointment. In the office. Economy. Politics. Social angst. Deja-vu all over again!
You will find articles I've written, as well as those written by Josh Silverstone , my business partner, about mindset, positivity, managing change, and the like. Just click on past articles here on LinkedIn as well as on our MindTeam Solutions blog . Today, however, I'm honing in on one area ... laughter! Yes, at a time "like this".
I could ask you to define "a time like this" for yourself. If you are in the midst of grief, please know that I do not make light of being in such a time like this for you. You'll need to work through grief - with help, if necessary - and resist taking such a journey alone. Here I'm addressing the "regular" ups and downs we experience daily in business, in our professions and in our lives.
I've been introduced to a practice called Laughter Yoga by a colleague, ?? Larissa Johnson ?? . I discovered that it is a way to start, get through, and end my day reaping the physical and psychological benefits of doing something that requires no expense, no poses or contortions, nor even other people if I choose to do it alone. The practice involves laughing intentionally - at any time, in any place, for any length of time, for little reason other than, well, to laugh! (Okay, some social appropriateness admitedly comes into play.)

I learned that laughter yoga is a world-wide practice. Set aside 30 minutes to watch my interview with Larissa HERE to learn all about what it entails, why consider doing it, and to see several quick-and-easy techniques to get you started and in action right away. I guarantee you will launch into laughter within minutes of what I initially intended to be a serious conversation, yet resulted in the object of the very topic even before the camera started rolling.
How dare we laugh through "times like these"? How dare we not for our own health and wellbeing.
Think about it! Please share this writing with leaders you know and "follow" me to receive regular issues of this Leadertorial. I appreciate you for your attention to reading and sharing my messages.
