How to cut tech costs without data chaos.

How to cut tech costs without data chaos.

On Wonderbread and Band-Aids

It's the holiday season, so the gift we're giving you today is a shameless pitch.

I’ll bet you didn't know Syncari could help you…

  1. Manage data so turning off a GTM system like Zendesk or Intercom or HubSpot doesn't mess up contact and account records.
  2. Sync multiples of the same CRM or MAP, in order to consolidate rapidly. Picture unifying two HubSpot instances in a few weeks instead of months. Then picking one to run with.
  3. Reduce spend on data tools with obnoxiously redundant functionality.

Speaking of the data stack…

ETL, reverse ETL, observability, iPaaS, workflow, etc etc etc. You probably have several of these in place to move customer data around.

Overlapping capabilities is a big problem for the data stack. Take the concept of a data transformation, for instance: Fivetran is ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), so it transforms data on its way to a warehouse from your customer systems. In the warehouse, dbt performs transformations (compute costs can skyrocket here). On the way back, through a reverse ETL tool like Census or Hightouch, more transformations happen.

But why?

Data stacks and the Wonderbread Effect

Wonderbread supplanted wheat bread with its nutrient-poor alternative, was responsible for massive upticks in vitamin B deficiency-related illnesses, and then infused vitamins into its bread as a fractional fix.

Watch out for tools that create problems and then provide solutions to them. Buying a warehouse can be excellent with a well-architected plan for long-term data storage needs, such as ML applications.

But keeping data in sync across your GTM stack??

A warehouse-first approach creates more complexity and cost than it solves.

And if you have a warehouse, you have several pipeline tools, and then tools on top of tools for monitoring and quality.

How to collapse the data stack

What you need is a new ETL direction called Anywhere ETL a platform purpose-built for unifying customer data in CRM, CS, sales, finance and marketing systems, capable of pulling from a warehouse as well as any other. Without code, in fact.

Cut tech costs and avoid data loss…

…Only with yours truly.
