1. Determine Functional Requirements

3. Design the Graphic Overlay

Embossing: Decide if buttons or graphics need to be embossed. Embossing enhances tactile feedback and can improve the aesthetic appearance of the keypad. Common types include rim embossing (around the button edge) or pillow embossing (a raised surface).
Window Areas: If your device has display windows (for LCDs or LED readouts), plan for transparent or colored windows within the keypad design.
