How to Cultivate Peace with 100 Days Positivity: Interview with Sabrina Park

How are you cultivating peace? Sabrina Park, PCC, of South Korea, a long time coaching colleague, shares about her 100 Days to World Peace and some of its questions to reflect on to cultivate peace in our interview. Through coaching we understand ourselves and others better and we partner with others to cultivate peace, prosperity and potential in their lives. We both write daily gratitudes. We end our interview with love, blessings and prayers for all. As you read, I invite you to consider: when and how do you experience peace? What will you apply from the practices, approaches shared? How are you being a Peaceful Presence in a Divided World? That’s the title of one of my programs, and thankfully, what I have been recognized for since I was a child. Although we can all be challenged by negativity, as Sabrina shares, along with her ideas to get us back on track. Note this is a summarized transcript, our video interview is below.

Sabrina: I feel very happy to talk about peace, not about the problems.

Marilyn: Yes, that is wonderful…I appreciate and am looking forward to hearing first, what does peace mean to you, Sabrina?

Sabrina: Peace to me is a state of inner calm that allow us to truly see ourselves and others in the world and life. It is not just the absence of conflict but the presence of a deep awareness, gratitude and kindness, some positive energy. When we cultivate peace within ourselves we become more present, more compassionate and more connected with those around us. Not only people, with nature and with work and organizations, etc. I have come to understand that peace begins in our heart.

Marilyn: Yes I love that: the positive energy and the connection with nature. You have that flowing water behind you. That’s something I post about on Fridays: taking a moment of nature to renew, center and be at peace. Thank you for that. Sabrina, how did you come into peace work? Because you started your peace initiative how many years ago?

Sabrina: ..Actually my journey into peace work began through coaching. Ihave dedicated myself to for over 20 years. This really led me to reflect deeply, helped me understand myself better and I also was able to help others cultivate peace in their lives..I started writing a gratitude diary every day and then in 2016 I found that I need positive energy more. I was just alone at the table in my home (I’m single, I never been married). Let me restart the gratitude diary again with some friends and not alone.?

So I launched the 100 days Positive Energy World Peace project, inviting friends and some who I know but they do not know each other. Every 10 days I gave a question…for example I ask “What are you grateful for for today? or “Who made you smile today? When did you show your kindness today?”..People told me after 100 days “I needed to practice kindness.”…I met coaches who would like to join me in bringing it to their own communities. It doesn't cost at all…I just dream I want to create positive leaders in every country. In 2018 the world peace seminar in Korea.. I ask some questions,…what truly creates peace?..The only one answer: the key to peace is found within the human heart…

Marilyn: I love your enthusiasm for the work, and that it started so simply with gratitude, your gathering together people, the key is from the heart and that you're doing this from your heart, it wasn't for financial gain. Anyone can practice the positive energy, gratitude for a 100 days, and then it becomes a habit.?

(Similarly) As we were talking before we started the interview, I mentioned to you that I'm doing the Camino de Santiago. I'm gathering together people that don't know each other with the intention of walking for peace in the world, and also further developing it within ourselves. The inner walk and the outer walk are in alignment. (no financial gain for myself) That's so beautiful and I really appreciate how you are offering this with different countries, different groups of people. How are you inviting other people to join you on this 100 days??

Sabrina: Actually I don't do that intentionally I just share this and if someone interested I ask them please feel free to tell me and if people ask me, I create a group small group, like four to five maximum. I gave a positive leader certificate, three levels so someone who can lead their own group, sometimes in English, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese and in Korean. After 100 days they could see their life as transformation.?

Marilyn: Yes, focusing on your heart, your gratitude and the positive energy and making that a habit can really transform your life and and cultivate or increase peace within and within our communities and teams and and our world. That’s beautiful. Anything else you want to say about how you're living it out or what you want people to take away from this today, Sabrina?

Sabrina:…It’s time for us to practice (peace and kindness). Negative things always automatically come to our mind, a default value for human beings. We need to practice intentionally. You should be aware awake to choose the positive activity, so practice peace, positivity, gratitude, kindness. Every day we eat breakfast lunch and dinner. We need to practice peace every moment in your life.

Your life is very beautiful. Just think about yourself how beautiful you are. Start to say thank you to yourself, to friends, your family members, in your organization, community. Please start from thank you and then you can move up to love, bless you. I tell people: do only three things: bless you, thank you, I love you. Only three words we want to hear. If we do that we can create more peace in the world.

Marilyn: I love that Sabrina, we're saying thank you, bless you, I love you to ourselves as well as as to others. That's a great practice to cultivate for transformation.?

What a time we are living in, in your country in Korea, my country the US, all around the world, 150 armed conflicts at at any time, so much division and we can make a difference! I love how you offer this as a practice, 100 days.

Anybody could do a 100 days, right? It's like training for a marathon or training for the the Camino pilgrimage hike that I'm going on. I’m practicing getting my miles in every day so it's doable. Thank you so much for your inspiration and your gift to the world, Sabrina.

Sabrina: My pleasure. Last thing I want to tell people: please be positive to the negative. If we share our positive to the negative we can have more peace.

Marilyn: Thank you, yes we don't have to respond to a negative with a negative. Thank you so much for being our guest today, Sabrina. I know others will be inspired.

Sabrina: My pleasure. I hope everybody feels happiness, abundance and joy in your life. I also bless you. I thank you for listening to me. I love you and I will pray pray for all of you who are listening to this message thank you very much.

Marilyn: I join you in that, a blessing and and lifting everyone up in in prayer and and for World Peace, thank you.
