HOW TO CULTIVATE MINDFULNESS
LIFT THE VIBE
We offer assessments and training in vital emotional intelligence competencies.
Embracing mindfulness in everyday life can deepen your awareness, alleviate stress, and enhance your overall well-being. I've noticed that when something is troubling me, my mind tends to race as I instinctively try to avoid it. This avoidance only fuels my racing thoughts, creating a cycle of distraction.
Recognizing this pattern is crucial; it’s important to pause and ask yourself, "What is bothering me?" Once you identify the source of your discomfort, you’ve already made significant progress. From there, you can begin to practice mindfulness techniques that will help you cultivate your skills further.
Keep in mind that mindfulness involves not just observing your thoughts, but also being aware of your emotions and bodily sensations. While the brain often seeks to exert control, your emotions and body operate independently of this control. To gain a deeper understanding of your experiences, it’s essential to explore the interplay between your mind, body, and emotions. In essence, this means looking beyond your thoughts to examine how your emotions influence your thinking and the pressures you encounter.
?Here are some practical steps to help you integrate mindfulness into your routine:
1.? Fly on the Wall technique
Imagine yourself as an observer, like a fly on the wall, watching your own actions and reactions. This perspective allows you to gain a more objective view of your situation. You'll be able to discern whether you're feeling tense or relaxed, clinging to certain thoughts or allowing them to pass, or overthinking instead of giving yourself the necessary space. This exercise can reveal valuable insights about your inner self.
2. ?Limit Multitasking
Concentrate on completing one task at a time, whether you're working, cooking, or having a conversation. Devote your full attention to each activity. When your brain takes the reins and attempts to juggle multiple tasks, it often leads to neglecting your body's needs, resulting in stress and discomfort.
3. Meditate Regularly
Set aside time each day for meditation. Stillness is the key to finding balance, whether it is in meditation or just sitting in a quiet place.? Start with just a few minutes and gradually increase the duration. Use guided meditations or apps if needed.? I have included a link ?in the description below to a 15-minute guided meditation I have prepared for you:?
4. The Pulse
Over the last 40 years, I've discovered a simple technique known as 'The Pulse.' This involves lying down and allowing the soul's energy to heal you through rhythmic vibrations pulsing through your body. Whenever you feel stressed or confused, try resting and letting the 'pulse' of your soul flow within you. This sensation resembles a gentle rhythmic pulsation throughout your body.
Embracing stillness can help alleviate stress, enhance sleep, foster active listening, spark new ideas, and anchor us in the present moment. It also allows your soul greater access to your intuition, thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
