How to create your UPI ID in HDFC Bank using HDFC Mobile Banking App

In this article, we will learn, how to create your UPI ID in HDFC Bank using HDFC Mobile Banking App.

Follow the below steps:

Step-1

Log in to the HDFC Mobile Banking App. You would see below screen. Click on three lines at the top left corner. (Red circled for easy identification)

Step-2

Once you click on three lines, you would see below screen. Now click on ‘Pay’. (Red circled for easy identification)

Step-3

Once you click on ‘Pay’, you would see below screen. Now click on ‘UPI Payment’. (Red circled for easy Identification)

Step-4

Once you click on ‘UPI Payment’, you would see below screen. Now click on ‘Accept & Continue’. (Red circled for easy Identification)

Step-5

After clicking on ‘Accept & Continue’, you would see below screen.

Please make sure before initiating this process that Sim for your mobile number registered with HDFC bank must be inserted in the same mobile in which you are using HDFC Mobile Banking App. Reason being it would detect the Sims directly from the mobile you are using and you would select the Sim of Registered mobile number, in case there are more than 1 sims in your mobile.

In the below screenshot there is only one sim in the mobile. In such cases, it would automatically select the Sim. (Green circled for easy Identification).

After that click on ‘VERIFY MOBILE NUMBER’. (Red circled for easy Identification)

After that it would send a message to your mobile number to verify your mobile number.

Step-6

After clicking on ‘VERIFY MOBILE NUMBER’, you would see below screen.

Now you need to manually enter the UPI ID you want to create for yourself. (See the Yellow circled portion in the below screenshot)

At the end of UPI ID @hdfcbank would be automatically added. (See the Black circled portion in the below screenshot)

UPI ID should also be available. It would show you whether it is available or not. (See the Red circled portion in the below screenshot)

After that you need to select your HDFC Bank account from the drop down. (See the Blue circled portion in the below screenshot)

Name on account, it would automatically detect and show. . (See the Green circled portion in the below screenshot)

Then you need to click on ‘Continue’. (See the Red circled portion in the below screenshot)

Step-7

After clicking on ‘Continue’, you would see below screen. It would acknowledge that UPI ID has been successfully created.

You can see your UPI ID on this page. (Red circled for easy Identification)

It would also display your name, bank and account number associated with the UPI ID.
