Throughout my career, my stubbornness was both my superpower and my downfall.?


My wife would tell you I haven't changed but professionally I have learnt to channel it in a good way, and that was how I overcame a challenge set by a client who wanted to work out how to convert more applicants into interviews, and subsequently, an employment offer.?


We were able to have some fun with this one and really push the boundaries of thinking differently coupled with a stubbornness to find a solution.

The Recruitment Sales Funnel?


We started by flipping the mindset and looking at the recruitment process as a sales funnel.?


By doing this we were able to create a logical flow chart of how the process should work, we did this by tracking the journey a guest goes through when they make a table reservation online.?


How could we replicate this?


You might think this is no different to a usual Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and you are right, but, this one is for less than $10 per month, anyway, my client didn't have one in place.?


(Choosing an ATS can be difficult and has many other factors, this recruitment sales funnel is one you can implement today)

I love this, most people don't put much thought into their recruitment pipeline but framing it the same as a sale (which I agree it is) is by far the most effective way I've found to keep it full of suitable candidates. We should certainly all do more to track our conversions and results!
