How to create your Peak Performance Mindset

Sales success depends on three factors: the right Mindset, the right skills set and the best tool set. It all begins with the Mindset. The mindset is like the operating system of a computer that needs to be upgraded periodically in order to function at full capacity.
Neuroscience tells us that the prefrontal cortex is where your “Inner CEO” is located. It is your inner CEO that’s in control of your Mindset operating system.
If you were to study a brain scan of an average salesperson or sales leader, you’d see that certain regions of the brain are not fully activated when they are interacting with their customers. Their minds often run in “automatic” mode. Automatic mode means limited awareness and lack of focus.
They are unaware of the fact that they are experiencing 60,000 thoughts a day and that 80% of these thoughts are negative.
They are unaware that it is their negative self-commentary (while they interact with others) that is inhibiting their capacity to handle difficult situation at work.
This limited awareness reduces their ability to advise customers on the best course of action.
They don’t know how to improve their Mindsets to achieve better results.
They are so caught up in their daily routine and tethered to their habits that they forget that they are human beings, not human doings.
They ignore their mental states and ignore the fact that happy salespeople sell 38% more.
They are not aware that people with a positive Mindset live on average 7.5 years longer.
They are unaware that it is their self-limiting beliefs stand in the way of them reaching their goals.
They are unaware that their minds get distracted by their three internal time zones: the past, the present and the future. It’s like watching the History Channel, CNN and a SciFi channel all at once.
Unsuccessful people spend too much of their time ruminating about their negative past which causes them to give up on their dreams.
They don’t have their goals in writing and they never bother to explore their “why?”
They simply don’t know that the bigger the “why,” the bigger the “try.”
They don’t see the connection between their poor diet and lack of exercise and their low energy levels.
They don’t know why top performing leaders seek solutions while they average performers seek comfort.
What’s hard to learn is awareness and focus. That’s how we begin our 2 1/2 day Mindset retreat.
We first teach you Mindfulness. Click on this link to get an inside look: https://youtu.be/ReRJVFJEMGE
At the retreat you’ll work with six Mindset experts (including a two-time world champion), you’ll learn from your peers and you’ll become part of a Mastermind group committed to helping each other win. We also invite participants to select two of three Mindset challenges.
THE HOLE-IN-ONE CHALLENGE
In our first retreat we invited a small team to play on a Par 3 Golf Course with the explicit goal to shoot a hole in one. The chance of an average golfer shooting a hole in one is about 12,000 to 1. Since we had five players on the Par 3 course, we had only 90 attempts to achieve a hole in one. Here is a short video of what happened: https://youtu.be/3S4klwd_tIA
THE TANDEM JUMP CHALLENGE
Sales leaders and CEO's that choose this challenge went through a cycle of emotions that ranged from anxiety, to excitement on the plane ride up. Once you exit the aircraft, the thrill of the free fall lasts for about 30 seconds followed by the joy of gliding once the parachute has opened. In this video you'll see the Captain of the Red Bull Air Force Jon DeVore flying towards the student, holding hands before opening the canopy. It's been said that the sport improves cognitive agility and it can dramatically enhance your mood. It is an unforgettable peak experience. Check this amazing footage: https://youtu.be/ZgEuTy9LbR0
THE RACE CAR DRIVING CHALLENGE
At the retreat we invite all participants to drive seven laps in a high-performance sports car like a Porsche GT3, a Ferrari 488 GTB, or a Lamborghini Gallardo. This driving experience helps you realize that a high-performance car can handle a lot more than you do. The same holds true for your capacity for peak performance. Most people only use a small fraction of their abilities in their jobs or their personal lives.
The Mindset of the herd is to do what comes easy. The Mindset of the peak performer is to do what’s hard.
