I quit piano when I was 8, crack mirrors during karaoke, and don’t know the first thing about how to play a musical note.

It’s as simple as typing a few words, exactly as you can write a blog post in ChatGPT or Claude.ai with just a few words, or create an image with just a brief prompt.

There are many ways that you can use generative AI in your marketing campaigns. I used it for my podcast intro, but a few additional ideas:

?? Prompt: Reverse Engineer Your Sound

One of the most powerful tricks with AI is the ability to reverse engineer: deconstruct how a blog post is written, a video script is structured, an image is created.

And how a song is created.

In the case of creating background music for my podcast, I wanted tropical house, Kygo-type song. It’s upbeat, fun, and….well I’m not really sure how to describe it.

And that’s how reverse-engineering a song is powerful. Here’s the song that I wanted to replicate:

Whatever sound you are trying to create, use a prompt to get a text-based description.

Here’s a prompt that you can use:

"Analyze the composition of [Song Title] by [Artist]. Break down its key elements including melody, harmony, rhythm, instrumentation, structure, and any notable production techniques. Explain how each element contributes to the overall feel and genre of the song. Then, provide guidance on how these elements can be replicated using AI, suggesting specific tools, settings, or techniques that would help in recreating a similar style or mood."        

This prompt is effective because it:

1. Specifies the Song and Artist: This provides a clear reference point for the analysis.
2. Requests a Breakdown of Key Elements: Understanding the melody, harmony, rhythm, and other elements is crucial for replication.
3. Asks for the Contribution of Each Element: This helps in understanding why each component is important.
4. Seeks AI Replication Guidance: It asks for practical advice on using AI tools to mimic the style, which is essential for applying this knowledge in music creation.
