How to Create a Workplace to Attract & Retain Top Talent
Employee turnover is expensive, especially when your most valuable staff depart. Employers invest a significant amount of money each year in recruiting new staff, as keeping high-performing personnel is getting increasingly difficult. Almost everyone is seeking a career that offers a good work-life balance and a positive work environment.
Research shows how flexibility helps to reduce employee turnover and improve employees’ entire experience through holistic engagement since the concept of work-life balance has become paradoxical in recent years.
Nearly?76% of millennials would take a wage drop of at least 3 per cent ?to work for a company that offers flexible office hours Further, a Microsoft survey states that?73% of workers want flexible work choices ?to remain beyond COVID. And, according to a FlexJobs survey,?30% of respondents had left a job because it did not provide flexible working opportunities .
What is the definition of work flexibility?
Workplace flexibility recognises that work does not have to be completed in a specific location or at a specific time. Employers who know how and when their people perform best, have a flexible workplace. The focus isn’t on how many hours employees put in each day, but on the results they produce. It provides employees with the freedom and autonomy they require to complete their tasks efficiently.
Employees with flexible hours can plan their schedules around what works best for them and their teams. A flexible location allows employees to work from home, a co-working place, the company office, or a combination of these locations.

Workplace Flexibility Has Its Advantages
Fewer days missed at work: A staff member may be unwell to come to work, but not so sick that they can’t get some work done. Allowing people to work from home in these situations allows them to do more work.
Less turnover: Employees who work flexible hours are more likely to stay loyal since they can manage work and family life without feeling as though they are letting one or both down.
Longevity in the workplace: Long-serving employees have institutional knowledge, yet they may no longer desire to work full-time or live in a hostile environment. Allowing flexible employment means that the employee can continue to work for you while the “historical” data is kept.
