How to create a Visionary Business

My Vision for business and how to thrive in 2023!?

In this article I want to articulate my vision for business and how you can create what I call a ‘visionary business’ - a business that will thrive in 2023 and beyond.?My passion is to work with Visionary Founders and their organisations and also to bring that visionary essence and entrepreneurial energy into more established businesses too.??

I truly believe that business can be a force for change in the world.??

That’s what excites me and that's part of my personal vision for business. We have lost faith in a lot of traditional institutions - in politics, in religion, in those established systems that would've been our grounding and anchors in the past. Business and organisations now have the potential to be that grounding - where we belong, where we grow and evolve ourselves and where we find our sense of community.??

Community, connection, and co-creation will be the cornerstones of successful businesses moving forward.??

They will be built on connection to vision. And not just the Founder or CEO’s vision, but avision that is co-created with others too and is exponentially bigger and more powerful as a result.?This co-creation is one of the new pieces I see coming into business. That each person brings their own unique vision to the business and they enter into partnership with it. I think of a business or organization as not fixed. It's just a vision. And ultimately a collection of people coming together towards a vision. You can see this clearly in founder-led organizations and smaller organizations.?? Somebody has an idea and they talk to somebody else and the other person feels connected to it and wants to join. It resonates with something in them.?The question is how do we keep that magic when we have bigger organizations, when we have businesses that are growing and evolving fast and when the founder can no longer interact with everybody in the organization??

Co-creation is how we create win-win-win environments?

And move beyond internal competition. I win because I get to expand and be all of myself within this environment. You win because you do too when we are each fully ourselves. And the business and organisation grows exponentially because we are all operating from our fullest potential and energy.?This is how I operate in my business and with my clients. When I collaborate and co-create with someone, we do it visionary to visionary, vision to vision, human to human. So no compromise, no dumbing down, there are no losers.?I am holding my vision for business and I am holding them in a place of potential in their business. And we are coming into alignment – what is their vision, and where can my vision and knowledge expand what they can achieve? We are in this co-creation together and we play and we move and we design, and we co-design and we don’t always know the next pieces until they drop into place. That is the magic!?

What if we could create open, expansive, free environments where we all came together to co-create??

And this creates passionate, engaged, amazing, fulfilled employees who are bringing all their creativity and innovation to play.?And in these new environments, you don't need to manage people in the same way, you don't need to check that someone has done something, because if they are engaged and passionate of course they are going to be delivering.? And actually they will go way beyond the baseline because they are passionate about what aligns with them and what they are here to do in the world.?

My vision for business is human to human, vision to vision, visionary to visionary.??

It's about being human with each other, coming from a place of intimacy and vulnerability. Because actually showing up as ourselves is the bravest, most courageous thing that we can ever do.??And in doing so, we create different dynamics, we create different environments and a different type of business.?? We breed environments where there is self-responsibility and autonomy.?We create organizations that are joyful, passionate, purposeful, inspiring, empowering places to be, and where they are a co-creation between everybody in the organization.??

And this frees up the Founder/senior people at the top?

The other major benefit of this is that then the responsibility is not just on the founder, CEO or main leaders anymore. It is devolved through the organisation.??The business is no longer dependent on hierarchy and control. It becomes an agile, evolving entity. So that people can bring their ideas and creativity and your business grows and expands from there.?The job of the Founder or leader is to actually to energetically hold the vision. It has to run through and imbue everything that they do. So thejob of the visionary leader is to hold the widest container for the vision and to allow it to grow and expand.??

The time is now!?

Why am I talking about this vision now? I’ve actually been talking about this for more than 10 years. But I truly feel that now is the time that this will change.?It has been moving for a long time actually with new generations having come into the business in the last 10 years, and now having gone through Covid and the pandemic the world of business has changed. The old world of business just doesn't work anymore.?And truth be told, I don't think it's worked for a long time, but now people are seeing it really doesn't work. The traditional engagement strategies don't work. Blanket reward schemes don't work. Hierarchy doesn’t work.?If Covid taught us anything it is that people want to feel meaning and purpose in what they do. There has to be a positive reason to come to the office, to travel, to leave the kids behind. People want to work somewhere where they can bring all of themselves, it is fun and engaging and that it has meaning andpurpose.??

So here is my vision.??

We create organizations and businesses that are founded in vision and that then that grow on a basis of co-creation so that it's about bringing each person’s own vision, strengths, talents and energy into this container, this organization so that it creates that culture where everyone wins. What if you could harness all the potential and creativity and intelligence in your business? What if you were only getting to 60% of that potential right now and there was another 40% of there that people didn't feel safe enough to bring yet, that you hadn't created the dynamic and the environment for people to bring that out. Imagine the impact on your business if that 40% came through and that everybody was so engaged and inspired working there, that you almost had to tell them to go home.?

That’s the power of this co-creation. That's the power of what I'm calling The Visionary Way!

And this isn't just about business. My vision is broader than business actually; if we do that in business, I believe that we change lives and we change the world.? Imagine how many lives we would impact if all businesses worked this way. Imagine the impact this on energy and positivity and mental health and parenting, and all the different aspects of our life.??? This is the potential, this is the opportunity. And I truly believe that the businesses that embrace this now, the businesses that truly go for it and are prepared to open themselves up to lose traditional control and create this new evolution are the ones that will thrive.??
