I was asked this question this morning…
“How do you create a trusted and believable personal brand?”
Solid question…
Three things pop into my head immediately…
Consistency
Vulnerability
Proof
I’ll create a longer-form video about this later on today but let’s break the 3 of these down real quick.
Consistency
No one wants to do business with these “fly-by-night” coaches and consultants. One minute they’re on the scene and next month they’re gone with the wind and you can’t find them anywhere lol.
When you show up online consistently day in and day out, providing value that’s going to make someone’s life better, that right there says a lot about you.
Subconsciously, you’re building a tremendous amount of trust with your audience and letting them see how passionate you are about what you do.
Vulnerability
Having the balls to be vulnerable to past mistakes and failures go a long way.
Listen, I’ve been in business for 13 years.
You think I have a batting average of 1000%?
HELL NO!
I’ve made a TON of mistakes in the past.
Especially when I was going through some business “growing pains” back in 2011 and then again in 2017.
I didn’t have my shit together and it cost me.
However, I quickly rebounded, learned from my mistakes, and course-corrected immediately.
When you hear me on podcasts, I openly speak about these mistakes because I don’t want my audience to make the same mistakes I did.
When you’re vulnerable, people see you and FEEL you as “REAL.”
REAL is RARE these days…
Proof
Talk is cheap.
I don’t believe it until I see the action taking place.
Bottom line…
People like to talk a big game but can’t back it up.
That’s why I always say, “SHOW AND PROVE!”
If you want to be trusted and believable, lead with PROOF!
Show me how your services can help me.
How have other clients of yours benefitted from your product or service?
We live in a “review based” economy these days.
Without proof, you’re just lip service.
No one that’s going to spend $10k, $20k or $50k+ on you is going to rely on just your word alone.
