How To Create A Structure Of Health.

How To Create A Structure Of Health.

"If more information was the answer, we'd all be billionaires with perfect abs." - Derek Sivers.

Nothing matters if it’s not implemented. Taking action and actually doing the work is the difference between reaching your goal and sitting there, hoping it will happen.

When it comes to implementing, consistency is the magic word. Doing the work, in a structured way, over time can get you to some pretty incredible places.

How do you think that man just ran up Mt. Everest in 26 hours (a trek that takes the average superhuman a week)?

Doing the work, in a structured way, over time. Consistency is awesome.

All right then, how do I set up consistency?

You set up both time and environment to ensure you implement. In essence, structure.

Your health is a menace to get under control. With social influences, time, business and responsibilities, health often gets put on the backburner. Setting up the structure is the one thing missing from all previous attempts at regaining control of this area of your life. Here’s how you do it. It’s simple and not exactly sexy.

Right now, take out your diary/calendar or contact your PA.

Create a daily 45-minute space at a set time every single morning. For you.

And you protect it. Even if Sophie Monk rocks up in a bikini and asks you to take her right there and then, you raise your self-worth and value your space. Never give that time away. If you do, you open the floodgates to end up back where you started.

I told you it was simple. I didn’t say it was easy.

It takes time to gain discipline in this, and it starts right now.

During this time, perform the tasks you need to do to regain control of your health but ‘never have time to do’.

1. Exercise

The most influential men in the world promote exercise as the reason they are successful.

Barack Obama exercises for 45-minutes, six days a week.

Apple CEO, Tim Cook, is in the gym at 5am every morning.

Billionaire tech investor, Mark Cuban, gets at least an hour of exercise in each day.

When asked how he stays productive, Richard Branson responded with, “working out.” He claims it gives him four additional hours of productivity each day.

All these guys are likely as busy as you, yet make time to exercise. They are smart guys and wouldn’t be doing it if the benefits weren’t obvious.

It’s not a matter of time or busyness, it’s a matter of priorities. They know that investing in themselves daily will pay huge dividends.

2. Mindset

The body and mind are linked. This is a whole other ball-game which I'll dig into next article.

3. Learn

“If you aren’t growing, you’re dying.” - Tony Robbins

Read, listen, watch, absorb. A man is only as useful as to what he can provide society. Constantly improving your knowledge and skill set (not only in your career sector but everything from parenting to sales to nutrition to writing) will set you on an upward trajectory.

You should always go to bed smarter than when you woke up.

4. Plan

Structure your day in advance - when and what you will eat, task delegation, family time etc. Structure creates freedom.

5. Relationships

If this is one of your values, which is likely as relationships are the fundamental reason we do the things we do, use your time to nurture them. Call your Dad, message a mate you haven’t seen in a while or have sex with the missus.

Strong relationships make life brighter and more meaningful.

As well as strong time-management allows you to prioritise on the things that matter and take care of the people that matter - including you.
