Step 3: Build and optimise your LinkedIn Company page

It takes more than just a polished LinkedIn profile to boost traffic and brand recognition. To establish your brand and promote your company, you must have a company page. Here are some essential tips for making the most of your LinkedIn business profile:

  • Ensure your company page is complete and provides information like its size, operational years, locations, and the services or programs you provide.
  • Insert keywords into your company profile.
  • Create links to your company profile by adding them to your official website, blog, and other marketing and promotional material.
  • Link your profile to the company page so that you gain a smart logo and not the grey square of doom!!


Step 4: Share your content

By demonstrating your abilities to your audience instead of just telling them, you can establish credibility more quickly. Putting your skills on display to prospective customers is a far more effective way to establish your expertise in your industry. You can show your followers how valuable you are by sharing content with them.

You can write articles, blogs, and videos, among other types of content. Write those newsletters and publish them on LinkedIn Publishing to reach a new and larger audience!

Key tips:

  • Choose subjects of interest to your audience that will also position you as a thought leader.
  • Ensure your content is SEO-friendly, so it is visible both on and off LinkedIn.

Pro Tip: Check your public profile visibility is set to “everyone” so that search engines (eg. Google) can rank your articles.

  • Consistency is key - aim for 3 x week.


Step 5: Engage Regularly with your Network

A common mistake made by a lot of business professionals on LinkedIn is to be very active for a few weeks, and then to stop being active altogether for an extended period. LinkedIn's now-you-see-me-now-you-don't approach prevents you from making the most of the platform.

  • Check your notifications and messages and the latest news on LinkedIn. If you see a message from an existing client, respond as soon as possible. Also, use the notification tab to see updates from your network and start new conversations.
  • The newsfeed is essential for finding new ways to engage with your audience and for compiling the most recent industry insights. Explore the LinkedIn news feed to interact with other people's posts. This can be accomplished by responding, leaving comments, and spreading other people's content throughout your network.

Pro Tip: Support reactions signal to LinkedIn that the post is popular and worth reading far better than other reactions so the more of these you have on a post, the better the likely reach.

  • Ring that bell ?? on people's profiles to be alerted of your ideal client's posts.
