I have posted a new "Ten Things You Need to Know as In-House Counsel" blog. This edition discusses how in-house lawyers go about creating a strategic plan for the legal department. It's a good amount of work but the process and the end result can be extremely valuable for many reasons. Click here to read it. And I am pleased to announce that my next book "The Productive In-House Lawyer: Tips, Hacks, and the Art of Getting Things Done" is at the printers and will be out in the next few weeks!

5 个月Another excellent article! One of the first things I did as a GC in a legal department of one was a SWOT analysis (also at the prompting of our CEO). I had no idea what a SWOT analysis was but quickly realized it was a very effective and efficient way to do a high-level risk assessment of the Legal function as it related to the entire business.
