How to create a Sponsored Product Campaign using Amazon Bulksheet (Practical)

Feeling overwhelmed by the vast world of Amazon advertising? Don't sweat it! This blog series will be your trusted guide, dissecting the secrets of Sponsored Products and turning you into a campaign-creating machine.

Login to your amazon ads account and by clicking on the bulksheet link you have direct reach to the bulksheet or you can download this bulksheet directly from the drive for practicing.

When you are open the bulksheet, what you saw, there are few sheet with name of Portfolios, Sponsored Products Campaigns, Sponsored Brands Campaigns, SB Multi Ad Group Campaigns, Sponsored Display Campaigns and There are few other columns in each sheet,?

Now we have to work only on Sponsored Products Campaigns and focus only on columns in it.


There are 3 basic columns you can find in the bulksheet, which are Product , Entities and Operation.

What is the meaning of all these?

  • Product : it's called about amazon ads product so you have to put these entries to fill it : Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands & Sponsored Display
  • Entities : "Entities" refer to individual elements within your advertising campaigns that you can create, manage, or update using the spreadsheet tool. Think of them as building blocks for your campaigns, each with its own specific function and properties. Here are types of Entities as per SP ads :?Campaign , Ad group , Product ad , Keyword, Negative keyword, Bidding adjustment, Campaign negative keyword, Product targeting, Negative product targeting
  • Operation : If we build a new campaign then we have to put “Create” in it and if we have to edit any entities then we have to use “Update” in it.

Now in this Sponsored Products Campaigns sheet you can see some others columns, so we discuss it.

  • Campaign ID : For new campaigns, you should type a text-based name to identify your campaign. You will enter this exact Campaign ID for each entity you create underneath this parent campaign.
  • Ad Group ID : For new ad groups, you should type a text-based name to identify the ad group. You will also type this exact same name into the “Entity Name” column for this row.
  • Portfolio ID : If you want to put the new campaign into an existing portfolio, enter the portfolio ID
  • Ad ID : Used when we optimised the Advertise our product ASIN
  • Keyword ID : This field will be useful when you want to archive or pause keywords
  • Product Targeting ID : Used when we optimized the Targeted ASIN
  • Campaign Name : Enter the same campaign name that you entered in the "Campaign ID" column.
  • Ad Group Name : Enter the same name that you entered in the "Ad Group ID" column
  • Start Date : yyyyMMdd? |? Start on today's date or a future date not Past date
  • End Date : You can leave this field blank if you don't want to set an end date. Otherwise, the format must be yyyyMMdd.
  • Targeting Type : Enter Targeting Type (Auto, Manual)
  • State (Status) : Options are enabled or paused. Enter enabled to create a new campaign.
  • Daily Budget : Do not include symbols such as dollar signs and put only number
  • SKU : If you download the Template from seller central then enter the product sku in the SKU column.
  • ASIN : If you download the Template from vendor central then enter the product ASIN in the ASIN column.
  • Ad Group Default Bid : Enter an exact figure with no money symbols, and use a decimal point (not a comma).
  • Bid : This field is for keyword bidding , product targeting entity , enter the CPC amount you are willing to pay when a shopper clicks your ad.
  • Keyword Text : Enter the keyword you want to create. To create multiple keywords, add a new row for each keyword.
  • Match Type : This field only applies to the keyword entity , Enter : Phrase, Exact, Broad
  • Bidding Strategy : choose a bidding strategy: Enter Dynamic bids - down only, Dynamic bids - up and down, or Fixed bid.
  • Placement : To define the placement, create a bidding adjustment entity in this campaign? || ? Enter either placement top | placement product page | placement rest of search
  • Percentage : The percentage adjustment is defined with the bidding adjustment entity with placement, Enter a figure using digits only, up to a maximum of 900. For example, a 35% increase should be entered as 35
  • Product Targeting Expression : used for manual campaign product targeting entity or in auto (close-match, loose-match, substitutes, complements)

Now Let's start with Campaign creation with steps by steps process :?

In each Steps I will guide you what you have to put in each column.

  • Step 1 : Create Campaign Level entry -??
  • Product : Sponsored Products?
  • Entity : Campaign
  • Operation : Create
  • Campaign ID : My Campaign Name
  • Campaign Name : put same as Campaign ID, My Campaign Name
  • Start Date : yyyyMMdd , 20240401
  • Targeting Type :?For Auto Campaign : Auto, For Keyword, Product or Category Targeting Campaign : Manual
  • State : if you want to start your campaign after uploading than you have to put “enabled” or “pause
  • Daily Budget : as per your requirement , 100
  • Bidding Strategy : Dynamic bids - down only, Dynamic bids - up and down, or Fixed bid?

  • Step 2 : Create Bid adjustment entry (optional entry) -?Note : This is common entry in each type of campaignProduct : Sponsored ProductsEntity : Bidding AdjustmentOperation : CreateCampaign ID : My Campaign NamePlacement : enter only those placement where you have to add bid adjustment : placement topPercentage : Enter a figure using digits only, 10

After filling all of your entries our next work is Upload our bulksheets file to create the new campaign.

Here's a shorter version:

### Campaign Level

- Campaign ID: Unique campaign identifier.

- Campaign Name: Descriptive name for the campaign.

- Start Date / End Date: Campaign duration.

- Targeting Type: Type of targeting (e.g., manual, automatic).

- State: Active, paused, archived.

- Daily Budget: Max daily spend.

- Bidding Strategy: Bid strategy (e.g., Target CPA).

### Bidding Adjustment

- Campaign ID: Campaign link.

- Placement: Where the adjustment applies.

- Percentage: Bid increase/decrease percentage.

### Ad Group Level

- Campaign ID / Ad Group ID: Links to campaign and ad group.

- Ad Group Name: Name of the ad group.

- State: Active, paused, archived.

- Ad Group Default Bid: Default bid for the ad group.

### Product Ad Level

- Campaign ID / Ad Group ID: Links to campaign and ad group.

- State: Active, paused, archived.

- SKU/ASIN: Product identifier.

### Targeting: Auto-PT-CT

- Campaign ID / Ad Group ID: Links to campaign and ad group.

- Bid: Target bid.

- Product Targeting Expression: Criteria for automatic targeting.

### Targeting: Keyword

- Campaign ID / Ad Group ID: Links to campaign and ad group.

- Bid: Target bid for the keyword.

- Keyword Text: The keyword you're targeting.

- Match Type: Broad, phrase, exact.

### Negative Targeting: Negative Keyword

- Campaign ID: Campaign link.

- State: Active, paused.

- Keyword Text: Negative keyword.

- Match Type: Broad, phrase, exact.

### Negative Targeting: Negative Product Targeting

- Campaign ID / Ad Group ID: Links to campaign and ad group.

- State: Active, paused.

- Product Targeting Expression: Exclude specific products or categories.


Upload your file to update your campaigns,” click Choose file to upload the sheet you just created

After uploading your file check the upload section and look at how many errors are coming and how many rows are proceeding.

Rectify the errors
