How to Create Powerful Presentations

Introduction

When presenting to clients, you want to make sure that you are putting your best foot forward. You want to impress them with your knowledge and expertise.

3 simple steps will create powerful presentations. Presentations that impact your clients and win you their business.

Know Your Audience

First, understand your audience. What do they want to hear? What are their concerns? What are their goals?

Once you know your audience, craft your presentation to address their needs. Highlight how their problems are solved by your company's strengths. Help them see their goals reached, with your help. Use clear and concise language. Keep any visuals uncluttered and easy to follow.

Keep It Simple

Keep it simple. Your goal: communicate your ideas in a clear and concise way. No information overloads allowed. Stick to main points and use visuals to support your arguments.

Language should be simple and easy to understand. Jargons are a no no. Your clients must be able to understand and absorb what you're saying. You don’t want them wading in the swamp of technical terminologies.

Simplicity is key – less is more.

Tell a Story

If you can, tell a story.

Like a story, have a beginning, middle, and end. A hero (your solution). A villain (what stops your client). A maiden (the goal you need to reach) in distress. This will help keep your audience engaged. And your points, memorable.

Start by introducing their fears and concerns. The villain. Then, talk about your topic, the hero, and explain why it's important. Then, show how the hero will best the villain, and rescue the maiden. Any arguments given in clear and concise points.

Finally, sum everything up and remind your audience of why your story (ahem, solution) is the best option. Follow these steps, and you create powerful presentations. Presentations that impress your clients. And rescues the maiden.
