How to Create and Post a Sales Invoice in Dynamics 365 Business Central

Hello, This is Afrath, today I’ll be discussing how to create and Post a Sales Invoice in Dynamic 365 Business Central.
Sales Invoice
You can create a sales invoice to a customer for goods, or items or directly?to?a GL account. When your customer agreed to buy products, items, or services that you have on hand or provide. You can record this with a sales invoice to bill the customer.
We will navigate to sales and open up sales invoices, from here, you are presented with a list of all open sales invoices that have yet to be posted.
We’ll create a new one, In the general fast tab, you can select show more to show all fields. We need to indicate a customer. We’ll view the full list of customers and select or you can search for a customer if you have many.?Now, other information fields auto-populate based on the customer card, and Under the external Documents number, we can enter the PO number.
In the invoice details, we can see the payment term code.?If you select it, it's one month. a 2% discount within eight days. Sales Price including a VAT we can enable that option.
In shipping and billing, the default ship-to is the sell–to address that is on the customer card. We can indicate a customer address if needs to be edited and amended as required.
On the lines fast tab, you can enter the details pertaining to the sales item. There are many options: G/L Account, item, Resource, fixed asset, or charge (item). Typically, you have defaulted with the items.
For today’s example, I’ll enter an item. In the item number field, you can select from the full list to view all items in the system. you can select from the full list to view all items in the system. ?We’ll search for the "ATHENS Desk". I’ll select the item, enter the quantity and you can see that the totals populate with the tax as that has already been assigned.
Before posting, let’s check the posting date as well as the due date. The due date is a month from the posting date and customers receive a discount if paid within eight days. We can post the order. We can preview the posting to ensure that the entries are posted as we expect.?We can post and send the invoice to the client, or post and create a new one.?We’ll start with previewing the posting.?You can see there are eight G/L entries, and a few other ledger entries as well. This allows us to see the effects directly on the G/L account. return to the sales invoice and we’ll post this order.

From here, we can view the posted sales invoice by navigating to posted sales invoices page.
This is the most current one that we’ve posted for $649.40 before tax.
We can select that line and it shows us the invoice.
From here, we can print and view the sales invoice by navigating to the Print/Send page.
