Background: A CXO showed his concern last week during our discussions on the hyped importance of recommendations, testimonials & client feedback. To give him more clarity I went through some studies & got back to him. Later on, I shared with him the relevance of Admire-Inventory & am sharing it with you now.
In today's newsletter, I first share with you a quick understanding of Admire-Inventory, then I share with you the process & then finally how to share them with outside world?
A caution to the reader: It doesn't matter whether you are a professional, entrepreneur, student, or a top leader.....great feedbacks and appreciation are always IN-DEMAND for it adds to your CREDIBILITY in people's minds...Agree???
Admire-Inventory is a collection & compilitation of appreciation about you from varied sources, whether these were given in the form of audio, hand written notes, video, client feedbacks, recorded zoom calls, great positive comments about you on social platforms or organiational certificates of admiration.
Following is one of the real examples from my ADMIRE-INVENTORY collection for your reference.
Why think of your Admire-Inventory seriously?
Research - In a study conducted by?Trust Radius , survey respondents characterized customer reviews as being more authentic and unbiased than case studies.
As a professional, coach, founder or student WHEN WE APPLY CUSTOMER reviews PERSPECTIVE to ourselves, we find out that people whom we add value to are important to us. eg... boss, client, subordinate, colleague, supplier....primarily anyone in our supply chain in current or previous organization.
Now relate customer reviews to colleague reviews....imagine a colleague gives you a review in the form of a recommendation on Linkedin, and in your next hiring process, the hiring manager actually goes through that recommendation.
Imagine you also have a website in your own name (even if you are just an admin assistant).
On that website, you share your interests, your achievements, and some of the value-adding content that you have generated in terms of the blog, video, or 2 liners or simply audio.
Now you add your website in your resume and the recruiter happens to click on your website...they figure out some photos, some content, and a HUGE ADMIRE-INVENTORY in PDF Format about you by other people.
I hope this is giving you a little clue now as.....why its important to gather appreciation over the years and compile that in a master file. Let's also now understand what should constitute your Admire-Inventory.
There are 3 things that qualify for you to add to your admire-factory or admire-inventory
Lets now understand 5 top uses of creating your own ADMIRE-INVENTORY
1) Use them as Linkedin Recommendations (reach out to that person, who gave you appreciation years back, remind them about that and preferably send them the copy of that appreciation if you still have....request them, if they could simply copy-paste the same appreciation on your recommendation now.....they should be glad to do that...and surprising they may even end up adding some latest appreciation for you now in your recommendations).
2) Use them as Testimonials on your personal website
3) Use them to optimize your Social Media Profiles & create Posts to help readers know about your value addition to others and how they complimented you
4) Use them to help your prospects get a feel or your personal brand, your products or services.
5) Use them in a resume or forwarding Letter: To create an impression on recruiters to get better job opportunities.....example.....create an exclusive small section wherein you write such as 3 top industry leaders that vouch for my talent with the following appreciation....then mention all 3 appreciations in 1-2 lines each for the recruiter to understand about your authentic contribution in your current or previous organizations.

Now lets talk about How-to, step. Here is How to build your Admire-Inventory - a 4-step miracle approach
1) Notice people giving you verbal great feedback, tell them if they could leave a voice note on your WhatsApp for the same, or send you an email appreciation or if they can simply write on a piece of paper and give it to you....this way you at least have a record of those appreciations with you.....even a recorded zoom call meeting in the office and an appreciation of you could be a great input for your Admire-Inventory Output.
Trainees' feedbacks, supplier & customer feedback, great admiration-filled social media comments by other people on your posts, office memos, emails, verbal appreciation are all important.
Keep compiling them all in a master document.....preferably in a standard format.
Refer to the screenshot below of Canva, which I keep in my Canva account....I keep collecting these appreciations & then compile them all with photos, designations, company, and other relevant details.
2) Now download them as and when you want to post them on social media accounts, download each one separately ideally.
I have made 2 kinds, one is 2-3 liner and another one is detailed one. So from detailed recommendations or feedbacks I take out only 2-3 lines for my audience to read these appreciations quickly. You can do the same.
3) Use them in your social media profiles, check my profile on Linkedin and I have used some of them briefly in my intro section.
Use them on your website, or use them as posts.
Use them in your blogs, videos, or anywhere you think....will help people know more about you.
4) Do Create a Canva file, it is quite handy and easy to learn. Preserve your master file for the future. Following is my Canva screenshot to show you, how I created a file in folders in my Canva account.
Now 5 clues to build your Admire-Inventory.....Think of people whom you have added to in the past
1) People who have worked with you, under you and above you.
2) People who have been your suppliers or Customers.
3) People who have been your guest shows, content co-creators or you have networked well on Linkedin (professional circle friends & associates).
4) People who have taught you, mentored you, coached you, or vice versa.
5) People who are your repeat social media audience, followers and truly admire you for your value add.
Following is a sample of a global leader, whom I had invited for my video live podcast.
Now this is an example of one of my clients whom I had coached and trained on Thought Leadership and Personal Branding
Summary - So to summarise, building an Admiration or appreciation inventory is a much-needed, easy, and almost once-a-year activity. However, the benefits are tangible.
In the comments section, I would love to know, your views on today's newsletter.
What's in the future - In the next newsletter, I will share with you some of the amazing people who have worked with me and how can you find such angels to work with you too.....
