How to Create the Life You Really Want

Most entrepreneurs set goals that are measurable, specific, and results-oriented: "Increase revenue by 20%," "Attach 10 new customers," or "Expand to new markets." These goals are undoubtedly important for growth and success. But often, when we achieve these goals, we still don't feel the satisfaction, happiness, or inner peace we expected. Why?
The reason is that we focus on what we will achieve, not how we will feel. Feelings are what truly determine the quality of our lives. Setting goals for feelings—how we want to feel—directs us toward inner fulfillment, not just outer success.
Why Feeling Goals Are Key to Success and Satisfaction
1. Feelings Drive Our Decisions Entrepreneurs often pursue a vision of success without asking themselves why they want it. Is it a sense of security, recognition, or freedom? Focusing on the feelings we want to achieve leads us to goals that actually make us happy.
2. Feelings shape our reality Our emotional orientation affects how we perceive the world and how others perceive us. If you want to feel peaceful and relaxed, your energy will create such an environment – and attract people and opportunities that support those feelings.
3. Feeling goals prevent burnout When we focus solely on measurable goals, we can lose touch with how we feel. Setting feeling goals reminds us that success is meaningless if it doesn’t make us feel fulfilled.
How to start setting feeling goals
1. Ask yourself: How do I want to feel? Instead of thinking about what you want to achieve, ask yourself:
* Do I want to feel peaceful, free, motivated, confident?
* What feelings do I want to experience every day?
2. Define the feelings that truly make you happy Write a list of the feelings you want to experience in your life and business. For example:
* Connection: Working with a team that supports me.
* Peace: Managing a business without constant stress.
* Inspiration: Working on projects that truly motivate me.
3. Align your actions with these feelings When you create business goals, link them to feelings:
* Instead of “Increase revenue by 20%,” say: “Generate revenue in a way that allows me more freedom and less stress.”
* Instead of “Attack 10 new clients,” say: “Work with clients who respect my values and inspire me.”
4. Create daily rituals that support these feelings
* To feel peace, incorporate meditation or breathing exercises into your day.
* To feel inspiration, take time to do creative work or explore new ideas.
Living Feeling Goals
When we focus on how we want to feel, we direct our energy toward creating a life that truly supports us. This approach is not only beneficial for individuals, but also for businesses—leaders who set feeling goals create environments where employees achieve high results and feel fulfilled at the same time.
Remember: it’s not just what we achieve that matters, it’s how we feel about it. When your goals are driven by feelings, you’ll find that you’re not only achieving your dreams, but also truly living them.
