Life coaching packages are an alternative coaching service you can sell to reach more clients. And in turn, you can generate more profit.

Sounds like a win-win.

So how do you create a life coaching package so fantastic it sells itself?

Types of Coaching Packages

There are two main formats to offer your life coaching packages. After you read about each of them, decide which one you think would be more beneficial. You may even want to provide a mix of both to appeal to more clients, break up the monotony and bring in more revenue.

One-on-one programs

Just as it sounds, your client will work solely with you in a one-on-one package. You may already be comfortable with one-on-one if you are taking your offline life coaching services into the online world.

This type of package can be advantageous for both coach and client. You can customize a plan for your client’s individual needs and discuss real-time problems. After each session, you can evaluate your client’s real-time progress.

However, this type of coaching package may not be much different than if you are already a life coach in real life. You can only take on so many clients, limiting your earning potential.

If you choose a one-on-one format, you should establish the boundaries before the client’s first session. Let them know when you are available outside your sessions if you choose to be. Set the expectations of the amount of time you will provide face-to-face with the clients- you don’t want your client to think you are available at all hours.

Group programs

Group programs are just as rewarding because now you can help an unlimited number of people. And after all, that’s why you got into life coaching, isn’t it?

In a group program, you can bundle your knowledge and research into a beautiful solutions-focused package, reach more people and build a community. You can offer additional resources that your clients can use independently, and they can talk through real-life problems with the group.

Consider offering a mix of both group and one-on-one programs. You can offer additional one-on-one time for an extra fee, thus upping your annual income.

In fact, there are many more ways to increase your revenue when you create a group life coaching package which we will get into later.

Life coaching program structure

A few ways to structure your package could appeal to different types of clients. While I find some structures to be better than others, you may want to play around with which one is suited best for you and the outcome of your package.

By the session

If you are already a life coach in real life, then you know how this structure works. You work with a client and set a goal for each session. Perhaps you work through a particular problem or focus on a theme for that session.?The session should be structured into segments so you can get through each item on the agenda and save time to reflect.?Once the session is over, you pack your bags, and you both go home. You might give homework for the client to finish before the next session.?

Structuring by session could be limiting. Unless your client is willing to pay per session until there is an apparent breakthrough, it may be difficult to assess the progress.

By the month

A monthly package is suitable for someone who wants to set short-term goals. Perhaps your client is expecting a new challenge in life and needs some encouragement or advice in the transition.?Your monthly package delivers all the information and expertise you need to convey for your client to reach their goal, but it is fast-tracked and fast-paced.?This structure is ideal for someone who doesn’t have the time to commit but still sees the value in your services.

You may sell this package focused on one result. “Have a better relationship with your children in 30 days.” In 30 days, the client has a better relationship with their children, and your relationship is over. Ultimately, however, the client’s progress after the month is up to them. The client who buys the month package will likely not be a reoccurring client because they have solved their problem or they haven’t. Either way, they won’t be using your services anymore.

3, 6, or 12-month packages

On the other hand, if you structure your package at monthly intervals, you can sell it as solutions-driven. In this structure, no matter if it’s 3, 6, or 12 months, there are many goals to achieve along the way while you deliver ongoing support.?This package will attract clients who want a shorter commitment and those who wish to spend longer on their coaching journey.?Regardless of how long your client stays with you, your purpose is to serve as an advisor and teacher.

The beauty of this structure is that you can price it on a tiered level, giving your clients options while bringing more income. The three-month session, obviously the least expensive, provides all the material your client will need to solve their problem successfully. The six-month session can offer additional material and maybe more one-on-one time and feedback, thus justifying a higher price point. And the 12-month session would be a yearlong relationship with you and your wisdom, face-time, bonus materials, additional feedback, and anything else that is included in a high-ticket package.

Define your coaching packages

Set proper expectations so your clients know exactly what they are buying.?Is your life coaching package solutions-oriented or goal-focused? Let your clients know if they will get ongoing support from you or if their sessions only focus on one topic. Will you offer one-on-one time in a group setting, or is it strictly group sessions? If someone chooses the 3-month package, they will not have access to the retreat you are promoting because that is only for the 12-month package clients.

If you offer face-to-face time, set boundaries for your availability so clients don’t think they have unlimited access to you.

Create your coaching package

  1. First things first.?What is your client’s main problem??Why are they seeking a life coach? What is standing in their way of being successful and happy? You must define the problem from the get-go, so your client isn’t wasting time searching for solutions that do not pertain to them.
  2. There is a difference between what the client wants and needs.?What they want is what will draw them to your package. Do you guarantee that they will sleep better in 30 days? Do you promise to give them tips on how to be more organized? The client?needs?these things to function better daily, but he?wants?someone to provide him with the tools and guarantees. Make the focus of your package the results your client will get: “a good night's sleep,” “declutter your clutter.” Hype up what your client?wants,?and they will inevitably purchase what they?need?– your coaching package.
  3. What is the outcome of your coaching package??What will your client receive at the end of your coaching sessions? You are selling a service, not a product, so it is essential to define what your client should expect as a result. Will they finally know how to shop for healthy food? Will they know how to prioritize their weekly schedule?
  4. What coaching package will give them what they want and what they need??Is your client looking to spend as little time as possible on reaching their goal? Perhaps a 3-month package is what they want. Are they looking for more one-on-one time with a coach? Perhaps the 12-month package will suit their wants.
  5. The price…?dun, dun DUN! After you have illustrated the problems your package will resolve and shared the values it will provide, it is time to mention the price. The price tag should not come as a sticker shock to your client if you have presented your package well enough. He will understand that the price genuinely reflects the value that your package promises. The price tag should not be as important as what the package offers, almost like an afterthought.
  6. Do you offer bonuses??Perhaps you can give an early bird special. If they sign up during a free webinar, they may get an extra one-on-one session or even a percentage off the whole package. Make the bonuses time-sensitive, so they don’t have time to dwell on their decision.

Life Coaching Package Templates

There is a simple template to help create your package. A template serves as a blueprint of what your client can expect to receive from your services. For a detailed step-by-step guide to creating your coaching package template, check out my (blog ) here, but for now, here is a template outline:

  1. Visually stunning cover page?– First impressions are essential!
  2. Short Introduction: Introduce your coaching package, so the client knows they are in the right place.
  3. About me?– Tell your relatable story and your coaching journey.
  4. Who I work with?– Who is your ideal client? What will you help them achieve?
  5. The coaching process?– Talk about your signature coaching process and any tools or methods you use.
  6. Coaching packages?– Describe all details about your different coaching packages and what’s included in each + timeframes + how it all works. Paint a picture of what it looks like to work with you.
  7. Investment and payment options?– How can your client pay? Monthly vs. all at once.
  8. Any bonuses you offer?– Do you provide a time-sensitive bonus?
  9. How to sign up and details about the onboarding process?– Be precise about how your client can sign up for your coaching package and the exact next steps they can expect.
  10. Success stories?– Include client case studies and testimonials which support your authority of expertise.
  11. FAQ?– You will only be able to do this after selling so many coaching packages and noticing the same questions repeatedly.
  12. Call to action?– Ask for the sale!!

How to price your life coaching packages

No alt text provided for this image

I have a detailed?blog ?on how to price your coaching packages. Some factors to keep in mind are:

  1. How much do you want to make monthly? You must be able to pay your bills and monthly expenses if this is your full-time job.
  2. How much is your client willing to pay? If your client is desperately searching for your services, they will pay. If your client is willing to invest in themselves, they will be ready to pay.
  3. How much experience and social proof do you have? The more clients who can vouch for you, raises your authority and price tag.
  4. How much support is included in your package? How often are you spending face-to-face with each client? How much follow-up will you give? How many resources are you supplying to your clients? These factors should be considered when pricing as they each utilize your time and add value to your client.

Scaling your life coaching packages

At some point, and probably sooner than later, you will want to expand your life coaching business. It isn't easy to do this with in-person sessions as you can only see so many a week. This is when you will need to take your one-on-one sessions to group online life coaching packages. You can reach and help more people with your unique solutions.?

An online package also allows you to create new offers and paths to more revenue.
