I don’t know about you, but I LOVE fall. It’s one of my favorite seasons. And with that, comes the fun of adding seasonal curb appeal to your little slice of heaven. In Houston, we’re a little warmer than a lot of the United States this time of year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t bring on fall with the best of them!
The first rule of decorating your home, inside or out, is to choose items that you love. It doesn’t bring you joy, then don’t use it! That said, there are tried and true strategies for decorating the outside of your home that will have your neighbors “oooo’ing” and “ahh’ing” regardless of their style.
Here are a few ideas to add fall curb appeal to your home this season, while adding some Texas flare!
Add a wreath to spice up your front door. A wreath is a simple touch that instantly adds a beautiful and welcome feel to your home. There are many beautiful options, choose one that you love and hang it with pride.
There is nothing that announces autumn quite like pumpkins! You can use them to line your walkway or stairway. If you are feeling really creative, paint your house address numbers on the pumpkins and line them along your driveway. What a cute way to showcase your fall curb appeal!
Add fresh cut flowers to your porch. In Houston, it’s still warm enough to get fresh cut sunflowers and enjoy the beautiful sunshine. Adding fresh cut flowers in a rustic vase adds elegance with a touch of rustic autumn charm.
Make your porch feel like your living room with fall tones. Deep red, bright orange, golden yellow pillows with a coordinating outdoor rug will make people want to kick their feet up and spend the evening with friends on your porch. You can even add a colorful fall throw to add to your seating...even if it’s still a little too warm to use it, it will look so cozy!
