Are you ready for the first 4 steps in your entrepreneurial journey?
Fight the Good Fight — Heal the Planet — Teach Yoga — Save Animals — Improve Social Justice — Create Plant-Based Delights — Write a Self-Help Book…
If you are anything like me then chances are you want to make a positive impact in this world.
But, do you have what it takes to build a successful heart-driven business?
Today I am sharing the first 4 steps that I found supported my journey when I started out. Tomorrow I will share the remaining 4.?
That’s right, 8 steps in total.?
Let’s get going.
1. Find Your?Dharma
“There is no greater gift you can give or receive than to honour your calling. It’s why you were born. And how you become truly alive” ~ Oprah Winfrey
Dharma is our purpose, our calling, our natural way of be-ing.
It‘s’ easy to get lost both within ourselves, and within this fast-paced modern world. We flit from one idea to the next, never able to decide what truly makes our hearts sing. You can’t start a heart-driven business if you don’t know what your purpose is.
Start by considering what you are truly passionate about. Your Dharma, your purpose, will emerge from there.
How do you find your Dharma?
Take time out every day to establish a mindfulness meditation practice. This will help to ground you, balance emotions, clear out the doubts and cultivate clarity. Even 15 minutes a day will make a big difference.
Walk in nature.
Turn off your devices and simply spend time focusing on your breath.
Journalling is terrific, especially after meditation. Meditate, then begin to write whatever comes to mind. Don’t stop. At the end of the week read over what you have written — you will be amazed at the insights and content of your words.
Learn to listen and tune in to your deep inner voice — your heart and your gut are talking to you all the time.
If you practice mindful awareness your Dharma will present itself to you naturally, with ease and grace.
2. Surround Yourself with Good?Vibes
“If you surround yourself with love and the right people, anything is possible” ~ Adam Green
Spend your precious time with people who support you and make you feel good.
Ditch those who don’t. You don’t need bad vibes messing with you and your ability to launch a successful heart-driven business.
Find your crowd, group, your community and surround yourself with these folks. They will always lend an ear, allow you to vent, and help you discover all your positive qualities.
Most importantly, these are the people who believe in you.
Who knows, they might even turn out to be customers later on.

3. Believe in?Yourself
“Encourage yourself, believe in yourself, and love yourself. Never doubt who you are” ~ Stephanie Lahart
This can be so tricky! But you have to find a way to believe in yourself, because no matter how much everyone around you believes in you, if you don’t believe in yourself then you will find it very difficult to grow your business and achieve the success you long for.
Some are blessed with unshakeable self-belief. However, for most of us it is a constant work in progress. That’s OK. I have spent decades learning, growing and overcoming obstacles. Keep working on yourself.
Simply by following steps 1 & 2 above you will be well on the way to self-belief. Potential customers will buy from you because they trust you and your brand, and because they believe that you will help them in some way.
If you want others to believe in you then you need to start believing in YOU too.
4. Stop with the Negative “I’m too?…” Self-Talk
“Believe in yourself. You are braver than you think, more talented than you know, and capable of more than you imagine” ~ Roy T Bennett
Can you hear yourself?
I’m too old, too young, too busy, too scared of what others will think, too inexperienced.
I’m not good enough, smart enough, educated enough, rich enough, popular enough.
I’m not going to even start this business because I will probably fail.
STOP IT NOW - Know This!
You are absolutely perfect just as you are. Go back to step 3 above! Believe in yourself.
Remember that a heart-centric entrepreneur is humble and able to keep their ego in check. At the same time know that your business will make a real difference.
The time is right now.?
Everything you need to succeed in your heart-driven business is already inside you. Unless you dream of being a brain surgeon chances are you already have all the skills you need to create your dream.
What’s up?next?
Tomorrow I will share the remaining 4 steps that I used to get myself in the right headspace when I started out.?
I will cover:
Are you considering starting a meaningful business, or perhaps you have started one and feel stuck? I hope that this article provides a good starting point for you on your entrepreneurial journey.?
You have a beautiful gift to share with the world.
