How to create content to help your dream clients
Joey Ragona (H??preneur)
We simplify and UnFunnel ? your online business so you don't lose money, time & energy building programs & courses that don’t sell.
One of the most asked questions I get is?"How do you create content Joey?"
Before I share my process - please note that I am NOT a "content creator" - nor do I play one on TV.
What I share here is how I deal with my ADD, as well as the necessary creative process we need to do as entrepreneurs in today's world.
Onward. The HABITUAL thing I do is to make sure I RECORD EVERYTHING I do.
If you take ONE thing from all of this -- RECORD everything would be it.This camcorder mindset gives me endless material to pull from.
For example, in the screenshot you can see I am clipping from one of my private Academy-Elite coaching sessions.
This is important;
I don't worry about making things pretty. Or 'getting it right'. That mindset has stalled me more times than there are numbers to use for counting.
Set a timer for 50 minutes - put your head down and clip ideas.
You can see what I'm talking about in the image. There are no fancy titles or anything.
Because writing titles is a different 'skill' and focus.
I used to slow down this process by multi-tasking:
I would search through a video,
ALL in one sitting -
Which meant I would get ONE , perhaps 2 clips done.
And it would take hours.
Only to do it ALL over again the next day if I was lucky.
I did NOT appreciate the idea of processing one "task" at a time
It's been a mission of mine for the last two years to processize ? <<< that's a new word LOL << EVERYTHING I can.
I now have close to 300 processes documented.
(That's how I am able to buy back 96% of my time BTW - but that's for another time)
Here's a page from my (in progress) "Create New Clip" playbook:
Batch 1
Clip shorts. Spend an hour, or two or 5 ... but JUST clip.
NO editing
Batch 2
Add clip ideas to Notion.
Notion is where I have all of my assets for reference AND for distribution.
In this step all I do is have the clip referenced to the original source and drop the link back to the project in Descript (so we can come back later
Batch 3 (later)
Now it's time to edit.
Because I use Descript, this is super easy. Just read the transcript and remove the words / sentences that don't make sense.
Again, THIS is a different mindset - you are just reading and listening to the clip to make sure it makes sense and flows.
Batch 4 - Edit pass #2
Now we can start making the video appearance edits.
Again - another 'skill' and mindset focus.
Batch 5 - Download & Update Notion
Now we need to copy the videos to Dropbox. This is where I'll store the videos for distribution later.
I'll take the Dropbox link and put that into Notion. For reference, you can see the empty Dropbox property in the image above.
I will also grab the transcript and put it into Notion.
This will help me later when I want to post ;-)
At THIS point, we now have clips ready to share with the world.
My BIGGEST CHALLENGE is always dealing with my A.D.D.
Slowing down the process and doing ONE particular task at a time gets MORE done.
As you can see from the image, I have several videos ready. There are more because I took this screenshot early. But you get what I mean.
That's really it!
So you focus on ONE task at a time.
Separate each task for the cognitive space it needs.
As I mentioned, writing a headline hook for the clip takes a different part of your brain than editing the actual footage.
With me?
Let me know if this helps and what you took away from it
