How to create change in yourself and grow
I want results! Trust the process. But I really want results!!! Trust the process! But… Trust the process! ??
This was me talking to myself by the way.
I used to often find myself having this inner dialogue between just wanting to get something done and acknowledging that making a change, in whatever way, shape or form doesn’t just come in an instant because "I want it to happen“.
Building new habits, changing unhelpful behaviors and building new patterns takes time. Well, at least it does for me.
What I found is that I really do have to trust the process and recognize that by following it, new things can become second nature.
I know that I can just change a behavior in an instant. Snap out of it. Change my state. And that’s really powerful in itself, especially when you create a habit of doing it.
On the other hand superficial change is easy, it’s comfortable actually. You do it for a little while and then you just don’t do it anymore.
What’s uncomfortable is making a long-term shift in how you show up, in who you are and in what you do.
I came across this simple, yet really powerful quote by Arthur C. Clark and it really resonated with me: “The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.”
So every time I want to create a new habit or change the way I show up, I remember that. Because what’s desirable and what’s going to bring long-term success is rarely comfortable and actually mostly uncomfortable.

2 年I really like this approach! Nowadays I'm challenging myself to activities that leads me out of my comfort zone. I suffer, confess mistakes to myself, learn and extend conscious awareness. Instead of regretting all the things that I failed, I discovered that actually I can become a better person and more trustful to people I want to help in the future to overcome their limitations.
