How To Create CERTAINTY and Close Deals With It
When you were a kid ...
...what kind of job did your DAD have?
Oh, YOU grew up around sports and Legos?? Wow, that's so great.
My dad was a Professor & Researcher.
I grew up around computers and math.
Accordingly, my dad was a hardcore skeptic. He believed in Verified Data, Solid Formulas .... and Proven Equations.
He was very different from me in many ways, check out his book from 1992 next to my recent book:
My Dad taught me two things:
1. How to finish what you start, no matter how hard it gets.
AND:
2. How to be a hardcore skeptic.
... SO I KNOW HOW EXACTLY HOW SKEPTICS THINK. I KNOW THEIR MENTAL PROCESSES, AND THEIR TRIGGERS.
Think about this idea for a moment:
I know how skeptics make decisions.
THIS IS WHY ...
... I know how to make any cold-hearted, number-crunching, data-processingBuyer or Purchasing-Agent buy and buy and buy.
Have you wondered about this ... what really makes buyers sign big contracts and deals?
Look at this agreement I signed earlier today.
What made this happen?
Most people would say "VALUE."
Some will say trust, or scarcity or demand.
NO. That's wrong.
This deal closed for ONE reason.
It's the same reason my dad loved computers and data...
CERTAINTY
The guy who sent me this confirmation email, the $150K buyer ..
.. was a tough cookie ... a real "skeptic" ... always asking me for more data & proof.
But I could not give him data & proof that I would solve his problem.
What I gave him instead was the feeling of certainty.
Certainty ... that his problem would be solved once I started handling things.
This buyer, was just like every buyer you'll ever meet-- he wanted lots of numbers and evidence and reference material on prior performance.
I don't provide that kind of data, and you shouldn't either.
MOST OF THE TIME IT'S ILLEGAL TO CLOSE A SALE USING DATA.
In most industries ...the government monitors and controls what promises and commitments you can make based on "prior data."
... Government agencies and watchdogs monitor industries like finance, healthcare, nutrition, real estate, advertising, media and energy -
....... if they catch you promising a certain result, using prior data, you get fined.
....,,,...you'll get sanctioned and blackballed, and your license pulled.
........................ and if they catch you twice, congrats, you’re off to jail.
JAIL.
Yes it's a paradox.
Buyer's want you to "prove" you'll deliver, and want you to put it in writing.
But you can't and you shouldn't offer data and proof and make promises on it.
All you should offer is the confidence that you'll make a best effort to solve their problem (or manage their investment.)
That's IT.
If you do more, you're going to cause yourself untold trouble and problems.

Although, my dad would not have said that about me. He might have said -
"A Genius? Uh ... NO.
"Oren is one weird kid. He doesn't believe a wall exists until he smashes his head into it nine times and he's bleeding.
"Then he'll say, 'Yup, that's a wall!'
Well, I have been smashing down walls for 20 Years. In business and personal life.
The business part? I've been working on deals every day. Thousands of deals.

Lots of people nod their heads about certainty but few have a handle on certainty As You ... with an instrumental set of steps that deliver certainty to the brain... my new book describes the brain as an uncertainty resolution system as well as humans always wanting More (to protect for uncertain times). The three social interaction mores we want are More money, More mastery and More meaning... the relationship between More and Uncertainty is what our brains are compelled to act upon....
