How To Craft The Perfect Pitch: Delivery

How to Craft Your Perfect Pitch: Delivery

Of all the presentations and pitches I've seen over the years, the ones that really stuck with me were the most effective.

Presentation is everything. Its not just your message that matters, its the way your message is delivered. When crafting the perfect pitch, your delivery determines how well your audience will absorb the information and whether they'll care about it. In our last episode, we covered the "who" and the "why" of preparing your pitch, today, in part two of our series, we will dive deeper into the "what," "where," "when," and "how" to craft your perfect pitch.

?? The "What" of Your Pitch:

When you are preparing your pitch, ask yourself:

  • "What is allowed?" This will determine whether you can use visuals and props or if it's just you and your words on stage.
  • "What is my goal?" Define the outcome you desire. Is it to sensitize the audience, practice and learn, engage them with your offering, or seek funding or promotion?
  • What sets you apart? Identify the solution you're offering to a problem and why it is the best solution.

?? The "Where" and "When" of Your Pitch:

  • Consider the space and location where you'll be pitching. Flex your style and presentation to fit the setting and audience.
  • Timing matters! Know when you'll pitch and understand the schedule and process, to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

?? The "How" of Your Pitch:

  • Make your instructions clear and accessible to your audience. Test your instructions with others to ensure they understand how to engage with your offering.
  • Demonstrate the impact of your offering and how it makes a difference. Try to really showcase your business's success and potential.
  • Tailor your pitch based on the specific context and audience. One size does not fit all, so adapt your approach accordingly.

?? Practice Makes Perfect:

  • Remember, your first pitch won't be perfect, and that's okay. Embrace it as a learning opportunity and continue to improve.
  • Practice, Practice, Practice your pitch repeatedly and seek feedback to refine your delivery and content.
