- Growlers: These are glass, ceramic, or stainless steel jugs used to sell craft beer on tap directly from breweries. Growlers allow consumers to enjoy fresh beer that might not be available in bottles or cans. They are reusable but have a shorter shelf life once opened.
- Kegs: Stainless steel kegs are a common choice for distributing craft beer to bars and restaurants for draft service. Kegs keep beer fresh for extended periods under the right conditions (cool and pressurized) and are reusable, making them an environmentally friendly option.
- Crowlers: A crowler is a large aluminum can used to can beer on demand from taps, combining the freshness of draft beer with the convenience and portability of cans. They are sealed on-site and meant for one-time use.
- Bag-in-Box: Though less common for beer compared to wine or cider, bag-in-box packaging is used by some craft brewers for specialty products. It provides a convenient, lightweight option for larger volumes of beer, with a tap for easy serving.
