How to correctly calculate the power of solar lights?
Solar lights are becoming more and more popular these years, many traditional lighting customers are very keen to start solar light to expand their product line or switch regular led light business to solar light business urgently.?Many customers do not understand the parameters of solar lights at the beginning, finally, customers spend a lot of money and effort on the wrong products. And lose their very important customers' trust because of the low-quality solar lights provided by their suppliers.
?
So, how to tell the parameters of solar light and decide this supplier is reliable or not to be your important partner? After all, the cost of solar light is always expensive, if any problem the loss will be huge.
?
The solar lights manufacturers are very various with the different abilities of manufacturing and development in China. Honestly speaking, 80% of solar manufacturers are not very professional in technical parameters, most of them are only caring about the prices that customers can accept, as long as there is a little profit then they can go for it. Also, most of them do not have research& development ability but simply buy the components from markets and assemble then deliver products to clients without test. Because of that, many customers are getting confused by their products and even are getting disappointed and not believe the solar lights easily.
?
How to tell the quality of solar lights then? Let's take the example of solar floodlight.
Here below are some solar flood lights we can see on market everywhere, and the name of the light is 50W 100W 200W even 300W etc.??So many customers are asking: Is it the real power of light? what?the hell does this power mean?
As we know the concept of solar light is to use a solar panel to generate electricity and conserve it into the battery pack, then battery drive led light to work.?So how can i know the power generated daily? And how about the power of light?

For example, we use 35W solar panel for our VENUS solar-led flood light. And we know the average solar radiation in France is about 3.5 hours per day (https://solargis.com/maps-and-gis-data/download/france). And we are using 10V for this panel, then ideally we can get 35W/10V*3.5H=12.25AH , the battery capacity is 6.4V 18AH which is equal to 6.4*18=115.2WH, but the power we can get from the solar panel is 6.4V*12.25 (78.4WH) which is less than the rated battery capacity. In order to extend the lifetime of battery, We use a much bigger battery in the system in order to have a better power backup when there are cloudy days.
?
From the above calculation, we know the power capacity of 35W solar panel is only 78.4WH, so if we need to this light to work full night, the total power consumption of led light should not exceed 78.4WH, if we programmed a reasonable lighting scheme whose lighting period is 6 hours, so based on the curve, we set the max power of light as 15W around which is the peak power when the battery is fully charged. So how come the other manufacturers are saying the power of their solar-led flood light is 200w or 300W. Actually, they call it 200W because the max power of LED chips is 200W, while actually, it does not mean anything for the end-users. What's more, because of the low-quality battery and solar panel, the real power of led light may be only 5W~10W only. Besides that,?it marks the lighting efficiency is 140lm/W, so does that mean the total luminous flux is up to 28000lm? Of course impossible.
While anyway, it is a reasonable phenomenon that both markets are there that some of which is looking for normal quality and some are looking for premium quality. Auroras is always trying its best to provide the most reliable and highest quality solar lights to customers with very technical support and service. Auroras is developing quality vertical solar led street lights, solar garden lights, solar bollard lights, etc as a great portfolio of solar lights to meet customers’ requirements for different applications.?
Auroras is your best choice for your solar lighting business.
