Do You Feel Like Stress Has Taken Over Your Life?
If you’re someone who deals with high levels of stress on a consistent basis, it’s likely that your body, mind, and overall well-being is paying the price. Interestingly, stress as we know it today wasn’t recognized by Western medicine until the late 1950s! In the decades since then, lots of research has been conducted about what causes stress, how stress affects the body, and what strategies and behaviors can aid in reducing stress levels. In order to effectively cope with stress, it’s important to understand where your stress comes from and what could be making it worse. During my How to Cope with Stress Email Series, I’ll be walking you through everything you should know about stress, including what causes a stress response in the body, how to identify your triggers, and what you can do to decrease your stress levels.
If You’re Looking for a Sign to Make a Change, This is it!
Here’s the bottom line: if you’re living with high levels of stress, you’re putting your whole well-being at risk. Aside from narrowing your ability to think clearly, feel balanced, and function effectively, stress also tears away at your emotional equilibrium and negatively impacts your physical health. In essence, coping with your stress is arguably the most important kind of self care. From physical symptoms like muscle tension, nausea, headache, and skin irritations, to emotional issues like irritability, anger, sadness, and changes in sleep and appetite, the effects of stress can quickly take over many facets of your life. Take the time NOW to equip yourself with the proper tools to cope with stress. Your future self will thank you for it.

3 个月Thank you for sharing these valuable insights on managing stress. It's important to remember that self-care is not selfish, but rather necessary for our overall well-being. In addition to the 12 components you mentioned, I find that setting boundaries and learning to say no can also help reduce stress. It's also important to recognize that everyone copes with stress differently and what works for one person may not work for another. Let's continue to prioritize our own self-care and support each other in our journeys towards wellness.

3 个月Stress can become an alley if we learn how to manipulate stress. See your stress as money to change your circumstance and solve your issue. Remember that it is ok to feel overwhelmed. Stress can allow us to pause or take a well needed break and focus on managing our energy to take intentional action. Stress can also make you focus on what matters.
