How to Cool A Net-Zero Data Center in the Age of AI
In this edition of The Next-Gen Data Center, we dive deeper into the cooling technologies that are bringing net-zero carbon emissions from dream to reality, even in the face of the immense workloads now demanded by AI and high performance computing.
Follow along as we examine an exciting retrofit project at the University of Pisa, where 10 retrofitted Dell servers are helping them cool up to 20kW of rack power. We’ll also look at direct-to-chip liquid cooling technologies hyperscalers worldwide are using to densify servers while improving their carbon footprint.
Finally, don’t forget to check out the insights and newest solutions that emerge from Dell Technologies 2024 in Las Vegas. We hope to see you there!
DELL TECHNOLOGIES WORLD 2024 WILL HARNESS THE FUTURE OF AI
On May 20-23 in Las Vegas, Dell Tech World will take The Venetian by storm. From visionary keynotes to curated networking opportunities, the annual gathering of technical talent is set to impress. ZutaCore will be on location, too, waiting in the wings to make some big announcements at this year’s show.
We’re excited to see how the event will showcase all of the ways the data industry is deploying AI and the latest technologies to accelerate from ideas to innovation. This year will include multi-faceted sessions that delve into the potential and promise of Artificial Intelligence in our daily lives. Innovative thought leaders — including Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson for another Luminary Brunch — will lead discussions around how AI will influence the ways we live, play, work, learn, create, explore, innovate and connect.
AI is also upending the data industry. At ZutaCore, we're revolutionizing AI server cooling with our cutting-edge waterless direct-to-chip liquid cooling solution, and will be unveiling exciting advancements in sustainable AI direct-to-chip liquid cooling technology at Dell Technologies World, May 20-23, 2024 in Las Vegas at The Venetian. We invite you to visit our booth #321 and schedule a personalized demo of our groundbreaking technology.
From advancements in cooling systems to sustainable heat re-use, efficiency will be front and center.

HOW LIQUID COOLING IS CAPTURING A MULTI-TRILLION DOLLAR AI MARKET
领英推荐
According to recent market research, the AI industry is expected to be a $2 trillion market by 2030. It isn’t a stretch to surmise that the gold rush won’t stop there. With the rapid adoption of AI and HPC technology, data centers worldwide are already saddled with enormous workloads from generative AI applications and other advanced processes.
Hyperscalers around the world are taking every possible step to densify servers and deploy more powerful GPUs and CPUs to keep up with demand. Alongside this push for processing power is a parallel push for a more energy-efficient cooling infrastructure. Current data centers simply don’t have the ability to mitigate the impact of these new workloads on their carbon footprint.
This is where recent advancements in liquid cooling systems can offer key advantages. Learn more about the unique data center cooling challenges of HPC and AI and the direct-to-chip waterless liquid cooling technology that helps solve them. Read More.
THE UNIVERSITY OF PISA’S NET-ZERO JOURNEY WITH ZUTACORE’S WATERLESS DIRECT LIQUID COOLING
The University of Pisa is home to a state-of-the-art server room, the Green Data Center, first inaugurated in 2016 in San Piero a Grado. This beacon of cutting-edge technology houses servers thrumming with high-powered processors from Intel, NVIDIA, AMD, and more — a challenge to cool while realizing net-zero goals.
Liquid cooling brought operational efficiency and enhanced rack utilization to the Green Data Center in a retrofit project that equipped 10 Dell R740XD and C6525 servers in just one day.
Now that it has transcended the limitations of air cooling, the University is finally able to leverage its servers under full loads — a previously unattainable milestone — with the help of the ZutaCore HyperCool system. This direct-to-chip, two-phase liquid cooling solution is enabling data centers worldwide to pivot to the age of AI and HPC. The HyperCool installation caused minimal disruption and now has the University of Pisa cooling up to 20kW of rack power and the hottest next-generation processors of up to 1,500W and beyond.
Learn more about the results of this stunning, rapid retrofit, why ZutaCore was the perfect solution for the job, and how this technology can do the same for your data center in the full case study. Read More.
