How to convince your franchisees that you are not their enemy

How to convince your franchisees that you are not their enemy

I turned myself inside out trying to explain to my 11 franchisees that:

  • They hadn’t bought a job
  • There were some things they could do with the system and some things they COULDN’T do with the system
  • I couldn’t be their banker
  • A franchise is a franchise is a franchise
  • I absolutely wasn’t their enemy

SOUND FAMILIAR?

Late last year, Chris Baker, GM People Maps, Aus and NZ and I ran a workshop for Franchisors. We promised faithfully, much to the franchisor’s delight, that we would run a follow up for any of their franchisees who were struggling. Then Covid hit. So now, we are ready and able to offer a half day workshop for YOUR franchisees.

Motivating franchisees can be tough, yet franchisors have to find a way. I’m joining forces with Chris again, this time to help franchisees get a boost of motivation and energy after a pretty grim Covid year. We will help them remember why they bought a franchise and how that was their best idea ever.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………

THE WORKSHOP: How to kick-start your franchise when you are feeling decidedly un-motivated

So you've bought a franchise and it hasn't quite turned out as you'd expected. You thought you'd bought your own business yet you are still answerable to someone (The Franchisor) and you are having to follow a system you think you could improve. ?

These feelings and concerns are 100% natural, predictable and valid.

Chris Baker and I work with franchises to help Franchisors better communicate with their franchisees and to help franchisees not get bogged down in stress and worry. We particularly remind people that buying a franchise was their best idea ever.

Chris will cover: Understanding yourself. Learning to maximise your strengths and mitigate your weaknesses when building and running your franchise.

·????????????????????Franchisees who’ve been going for a while but haven’t quite found their mojo and desperately want to

·????????????????????Longer term franchisees who have become tired, un-motivated and may even be showing signs of burn out

About the presenters.

Chris Baker is an ex-accountant and ex Action coach. He has been on the same side as a franchisee so understands the frustration of having to adhere to a ‘system’ created by someone else. He now works as a ‘profiler’ helping people in business understand their ‘style’ of working and leading. Having this self-awareness can create a massive break-through in understanding how to improve a franchisee’ s bottom line results.

Ann Andrews is an ex franchisor married to a retired franchisor so understands that, in the early stages of someone purchasing a franchise, the franchise system must not be tampered with. This doesn’t mean that ideas can’t be offered once a new person is through the steep learning curve. Ann also specialises in working with high performing teams and in particular, team members/leaders who have lost their mojo; she is an expert at helping re-vitalise people.?
