How to control your Mind?

There are 7 simple ways to control the mind:
These have worked for me.
1. Talk to your mind, motivate yourself, use auto suggestion to guide your mind, reward yourself for small victories, treat your mind like a child, you become the parent.
2. You may have several thoughts in your mind which distract you, start putting each one down on paper, become the 1st person, it will empty your mind.
3. You will hear several voices in your mind, start observing them, don't act, become a 3rd person, slowly they will die away when you don't listen to them. I always heard 2 voices in my head, one that said good things will happen & another voice that said bad things will happen. I always listened to the voice that said bad things will happen. This impacted my life negatively. We become what we think.
4. Program your mind by putting it in a routine, it will discipline your mind, make it do the same thing again & again, this will decrease the distraction.
5. Watch your narratives/words/thoughts/people around you, the mind gets coloured quickly so be careful, remove the negative words/people/thoughts from your mind
6. You can keep a part of the mind where you dump all the unwanted things, lock them in a box & hide it. It will block negativity. It is that cupboard in the basement that you keep locked at all times.
7. Keep reviewing the program that runs your mind always & change the program so the mind does not get control over the program. You and your mind are 2 different things, sometimes we confuse them to be the same so the problems start to happen. If we think the mind is us, then the mind starts to control us.

How to control negativity in your mind??
One of my biggest challenges is controlling my mind & dealing with negativity. I do feel stuck at times, especially when I have nothing much to do.
I have had several bouts of clinical depression & somehow managed to fight them.
There are 3 simple ways I found to deal with them:
1. Writing - This has helped me transform & also get positivity into my life. It is that ray of hope every morning that prepares me for a good ahead. Yes, I write for myself to keep that hope alive within me. It heals me & also gives me a sense of purpose. I realize that there are so many like me battling within every single.?
2. Keeping busy - I work long hours so I don't have much time to think. Because the moment I get time my mind starts to act funny & play games with me. I just cant sit idle because if I do I know I wont be able to deal with it. This is my coping mechanism.
3. Giving freely: This is powerful & gives both purpose & fulfilment. It is positivity at its peak. Once you are able to give the negativity gets lost.

2 年Nice post. Very Difficult to applicable. Keeping busy is good option but its just a temporary solution , once your work completed , than again we turn in to that same mood. its all about controlling on your emotions if you can , you can have that power , you can win all , but if you don't have then you are nowhere.... Just ignore some of things which hurt you , slowly slowly you will towards different track. It just my small suggestion.
