How to control your home entities via Google Assistant-enabled devices

Hi guys,

In a recent article we have seen how Home Assistant can also be integrated with Google Home devices using them to broadcast any text over Google speakers.

Having Google Home device integrated with Home Assistant also allows you to control any of the Home Assistant entities just using your voice.

Cool, isn't it ?

Software configuration

1. Home Assistant. I'm currently running version 2022.10.4.
2. Google Assistant integration configured.

Home Assistant code (yaml) / procedure

1. Settings -> Home Assistant Cloud menù
2. In the Google Assistant integration section enable both toggles below:

3. The Manage Entities menù allows you to choose which entity has to be controlled via Google Assistant:

The entities marked with a:

• green flag are exposed ones
• red flag are not exposed

As soon as everything above has been done, you are ready to control everything at home just using your voice.
