How consistency paved a path for my growth in Allsec - Vivek’s 13-year experience at Allsec

When I joined Allsec 13 years ago, I never expected to spend the most crucial growing years of my career at this company. Starting as a Customer Support Officer and then becoming an Assistant Manager in the MIS team, my journey has been quite an amazing ride.

Over the course of my decade-long career in Allsec, I have seen how advancements in technologies, and updated hardware and tools have been instrumental in scaling the company. But, what sets Allsec apart is the shared values, motivational attitude, and high standards set by its leaders. The leadership at Allsec is truly transformational and inspirational - and it has been a privilege to work under their guidance.?

Allsec constantly had a set of strong values and principles, such as reliability, honesty and consistency, that I can easily resonate with. As someone who values integrity, I find it inspiring to work in an environment where it is considered the single most immeasurable value in a person.

My single biggest achievement at Allsec is maintaining consistent work performance in all the roles I’ve taken on, starting from a customer service officer to engaging with the leadership team over the company’s many confidential data and metrics.

At Allsec, multi-level communication for all non-urgent work is encouraged as a standard practice, with guidelines detailing maximum response times so that team members can cooperate effectively. During Covid time, adapting to the new WFH culture was one of the major challenges we faced. To overcome the trust issues during WFH, we conducted virtual team building sessions so team members could converse with each other on a personal level. This was one such period where I realized that challenges bring out the best in us.

In my opinion, Allsec’s customer-centric approach is the most important factor for success. Allsec provides customers with unique value and helps businesses stand out from their competitors. The main focus has always been on consistency in quality, tenacity, and passionate leadership. Providing customized solutions has contributed to Allsec’s success.

If I could talk to my younger self, I would advise myself to reach out to my manager and request him to shift me to MIS team at the earliest so I may invest those 2 years to gain more expertise in the field.

To conclude, I strongly believe that growth is not an outcome of an overnight achievement, but rather the result of compounded outcomes of small wins along the journey. Therefore, breaking down strategies into manageable actions, and spending time on the smaller steps consistently is the key to achieving one’s goals.
