Do you have an idea for a book? Why haven’t you started?
Recently on the LIFT podcast, I met with Keira Brinton—a book medium, founder of Freedom House Publishing Co., an author of six books, and mother to five children. She helps authors write their books in FAST momentum and flow. Her mission is to change the world with powerful books that impact humanity with transformational messages. She is also committed to changing the publishing world so that everyone who wants to change the world with their books can all sit at the same table.
So I asked Keira, why don’t people write their books?
“Everybody’s biggest battle is their mind.”?
Maybe your mind is telling you that you don’t have time or your idea isn’t good enough. But as Keira says, “When you have a book inside of you and you don’t bring it through, it’s taking up space.”
Not only is writing a book a dream for many people, but putting it out there in the world will create more space for you to focus on other things.?
Keira compares it to going to the grocery store without a list. If you’re trying to remember all of your grocery items, you might miss something, and your thoughts are preoccupied with running through that list in your mind. If you write it down, you can rest assured that you will pick up everything you need, and your shopping experience will be much more relaxing and productive.
You know you need to write a book, but how do you start??

“Find your flow.”
Keira’s suggestions for finding flow:
For Keira, preparing her body for flow involves a spiritual ritual where she asks light to cleanse her ears, her third eye, and her arms all the way down to her fingertips. But this can be anything! One suggestion that I love is using your sense of smell. Every time Keira does her creative practice, she uses rosemary essential oil. Our sense of smell is linked strongly to our memories, and with enough practice, just a scent can drop you into flow.
Don’t know where to start?
Right before you fall asleep at night, send a request to your subconscious. Ask, “What is it that I need to write?” Keira also adds, “Show me in my dreams or right when I wake up.” The more clear you are, the better the results. Very clearly ask for what you need to write about.?
The book that you’ve been meaning to write for years is a gift for you. All you have to do is write it down.
