HOW CONNECTI REDUCED OPERATIONAL EXPENSES BY 70%

In 2019, Connect Arabia International (Connecti) adopted our TELES Class 4 Softswitch solution, enabling them to offer voice termination & origination services to all mobile operators, fixed-line operators, wholesale, and retail carriers around the world, and to make huge cost savings:

Connecti is the second private CLASS I licensees international gateway operator, satellite, and international calling card services provider in the Sultanate of Oman.

Connecti‘s ambition to rollout a new style of sales and experience centres across the region, depended on finding a Softswitch provider that could both reduce costs and improve service quality. Initially a major Chinese provider was chosen to help, but this proved problematic, with high power consumption costs and unfavourable vendor contracts. TELES was able to turn this situation around, with a much more efficient solution to Connecti’s requirements.

Our Solution

The TELES Softswitch combines the functionality of an Interconnect-SBC and Media?Gateway Controller. This enables Connecti to manage the national interconnect to the different mobile and fixed line operators in Oman based on TDM, while the international traffic is handled in SIP. The TELES routing database is both powerful and flexible. It can identify the correct national interconnect through its number portability capability, supports A- and B-number screening, and blocks of previously identified fraudulent traffic.

The Outcome

Our fast and fully remote project implementation ensured that:

  • ?Connecti’s required investment was kept to an absolute minimum
  • The project implementation and migration to the TELES Softswitch was completed in a short time frame without any major service outlays??
  • The migration was achieved with minimal impact on the traffic exchange between Connecti and its partners??

Following the implementation, Connecti reported as already presented on the top:

  • 70% reduction in annual operation costs
  • An 84% reduction in their collocation footprint
  • 83% reduction in their system support requirements
