How Connected Are You to Other People?

How Connected Are You to Other People?

Here’s the #1 Type of Wellbeing that impacts the quality of your life and your health, and it’s totally free!

Your Social Wellbeing

Social Well-being is all about how connected you are to other people and how genuine your connections are. Humans are social animals and need to have a sense of belonging. Ideally we should feel this sense of belonging in every area we spend our time (at home, in your neighborhood, at work, and at social events).

When your Social Wellbeing is at its best, you are able to:

  • better maintain emotional, cognitive and physical health
  • express your authentic self
  • make meaningful contributions to the world
  • feel happier and more content
  • feel motivated, enthusiastic and resilient

Many research studies have shown that your social wellbeing is an important factor in maintaining brain health, and supporting your immune system. It makes sense! The safer you feel with the people around you, the more your nervous system can relax, the better you are then able to digest and absorb nutrients, and use your neurons for learning and growth, as opposed to being on alert or survivor mode.

Things that contribute to your Social Well-being:

  • communicating with others in meaningful ways
  • opportunities for personal conversations
  • your sense of belonging wherever you are
  • maintaining close friendships or family ties
  • showing and receiving appreciation

Have a smarter day, a smarter week and a smarter life,

A love note from your future self:

Think of one person who you appreciate greatly and send them a message or call them to express your appreciation. This one small act will do wonders for your social wellbeing.

Love, from future self
